Gears questions?

Are FRPP 4.10's too much gear for a stock 95 GT?
Are they out of there powerband?
I am asking this question for a good friend.
Comments? Thanks guys!
Gears dont really have a "power band"

Actually, the general guideline is the LESS power you have in the car, the higher the gears should be to help you along.

The other "general guideline" is 4.10's for AODEs and 3.73's for Stick.

That being said, you will get some debate on this...I have 3.73's on the AODE but I have a Vortech, so that's fine for me.

Gears and engine Rpm and Hp all work in conjunction with each other, HIgher numerical gears are going to allow you to reach the power band of the engine faster but are going to limit, your top speed, The reverse is the lower numerical gears you have it takes longer to get into the power band of the engine but you increase your top speed, Think of it like a 10 speed bike,
4.10 would be like using 1st thru 5th gear, you can take off fast in first but have to shift pretty quickly to keep building momentum.... now imagine 5 gear on the same bike as your 1st gear, this would be like 2.73 or 3.08 ratio.
you can still take off but it takes more work but by the time you get into 9 gear on the bike or 5 gear in the car you are going to be able to travel much faster . Also as the power of your engine increases, you can run more gear, numerically lower, to gain some of the top end speed back So.. you have to find what you like best...somewhere in between.
If you do alot of freeway driving and like to go 100 + mph for some distance, then 4.10's are not for you...If you just drive around city, and stop and go, with some racing, then 4.10's might suit your taste. I have 3.73 with 5 speed and I personally would not want anymore for the street....
