If I thought I could get away with getting them a V6, I would, well probubly not. They have grown up around fast cars, they know the horsepower of every mustang from 95 on up.........We have had several GT's, 3 Cobras, and a Saleen........they know more about cars/mustangs than most guys! The best thing is that they appreciate a good/fast car.

So? Oh whatever, this is the dumbest argument.

And yeah I edited my original post, I thought it was kind of harsh when I read it back. Unlike you, I'm not here to start trouble and insult everyone who has a differing opinion. I'm glad you're making sure to get copies of my replies though.

My god, can someone please explain how I got thrown in the middle of this? What did I say, a 16-year old shouldn't drive a Cobra? LOL. Too funny.

Bagged groceries at the local A&P to pay for my 65 GTO when I was 16. I'll never forget paying $1,000 a year for insurance! In 1966! But I took care of the care since it was my own time and work that paid all the bills. Parents wouldn't buy me a car then, and I thank them now. I have 2 grown daughters, never bought them a car either - you take more pride, and better care of things when you earn them yourself. Now with my new GT I'm reliving those fun days in the GTO - and at 54 I'm the oldest teenager in the area!

This is very true. Although I still think it's ok to buy your kids a reasonable car. Doesn't have to be a freaking Yugo or something, maybe just not a BMW, Cobra, or a Porsche.

Really? I blame the white folks, with their holier-than-thou posturing and moral superiority. They're the lazy mf's, in my book.

Buying your kid a brand new car for their b-day is asking to spoil them. I had to buy my first car....from my parents. An 84 Ford Tempo. And I loved that car, and the next car I bought and I love the GT I just bought. There's a lot to be said for shedding blood sweat and tears to earn something that you want. If your kid wants a GT, better tell them to get a paper route. Just my .02

Hey '01SilverBullet: what are your thoughts on putting racing stripes on my car?

What are you getting ZG, Satin Silver? That was actually the car I ordered on X-plan, but wound up just finding a nice Mineral Gray one on a lot, and was sick of waiting, but I digress. Had I got the silver, I absolutely without a doubt would have put the stripes on it. I was debating colors when I was thinking about it. Black probably would be best, but I bet Charcoal would like nice too. In other words...yes get them.

For me, I don't really think any color looks good on Mineral Gray, so I'm not going to do them. But I wanted to.

Yes, I ordered the Satin Silver and she is scheduled for build w/o 4/25/05. Hopefully expect delivery mid-June (or sooner, fingers crossed!). Dark charcoal would be SWEET - but where do you buy the stripes??

Well, if it wasn't for us "lazy white folks"...............there would not be any money in the welfare system, and then what you do??? You would have to get off your ass and work.......do you know what that is? So you might want to re-think your statement, because the chances of that happening are not looking so good.

I have 14 year old twin daughters, they will each be getting a Cobra for their 16th Birthday. They knew they wanted a Cobra at age 11. They have grown up around sports cars and racing. They know what is right and wrong. Any kid can go over 100 mph in just about any car, if they want to........I see adults every day that drive like crap..........
My parents bought me a very nice car when I turned 16, and I had no problems at all. It is how you raise your kids...nothing else.
They will not pay for insurance or anything else............they will repay us by doing well in school. They are addicited to their cell phones now........if they screw up, the phones are gone, it will be the same with their cars.
We have an 03 Cobra, 05 GT, 05 F350 crew cab, long bed, and they drive them all........pretty good too!

I'm glad you reside in CA because you're really living in LaLa land when it comes to your children.

My only hope is that they will have good common sense because their mother obviously has none.

Ah yes, blame the Mexicans! "We" were strangers in a foreign land once. We established treaties with the natives that we consistently broke before we killed them or shuffled them off to "choice" parts of the country. It was our manifest destiny, right? The Spanish and the Mexicans were in California long before us. California was under Spanish control until 1821 before Mexican independence. But you don't care about something as mundane or factual as history. People like Wldchic remind me that the KKK is still alive and well. Simple causes are conjured by simple minds.

Regardless of Temecula's campaign to posture itself as the "wine country of southern California" it is what it always has been...a distant suburb for people who work in San Diego or Orange County who can't afford the homes in those areas. Temecula...it's nothing like Del Mar, La Jolla, San Clemente or Newport Beach.

Your generalization that our tax dollars only go to welfare is also entertaining. Did you know that most of your tax dollars go to supporting entitlement programs for the elderly (Medicare and Social Security), national defense programs and infrastructure and not welfare and human services programs? I'm certainly not a fan of the Federal governments "judicious" expenditures. The BIGGEST welfare system in this country is her largest employer...Federal government branches! Gotta love a government that forces everyone to pay Social Security tax except for it's own employees. That ain't right!

So Wldchic, go ahead and bitch about the welfare system or other social problems you might observe but when you try to blame them on a single ethnic group the only thing you're doing is exposing your own prejudice and ignorance.

Vote for Pedro!

Chill out Blue Oval--Wldchic wants to be the female Excon--she's just trying to incite a few of us.

She's probably a closet liberal doing local campaign work on behalf of Hillary Clinton. You know--It takes a village to raise a child...especially if you give them a new Cobra for their birthday.
