Well I finally made my decision and bought a 96 Cobra. I cant wait to pick it up this weekend. Its red, not sure exactly which shade, looks like wild strawberry, with tan interior. Fresh top end rebuild with new heads and a fresh T-45. It has 3.73 gears, Steeda springs, a Jet chip (i will probally pull that because I hate Jet and get a predator) Other than that its stock. Has 107K miles, and the only problems are a torn drivers seat, a small ripple in the drivers side front fender, and a worn steering wheel. Not too shabby for $6000.:nice:

Anyway I am going to order a few parts for it so I can play with it when it gets here. I want to order some subframes and am deciding between the Ford Motorsports ones ($45) or the Steeda chrome molly ones ($129), What do you guys think?

Also I want an exaust that will have a nice deep growl but not be loud, any suggestions?

Thanks!

as for the Subframe connectors i would go with Maximum Motorsports XL's, they are the best for $119, i have had them all( i think) and these are the best:nice:

You bought a car before checking it out in person? Where is it coming from?

Put the deposit on it, but I am buying it. Ran carfax, perfect records, have 40 pics of it showing everything. Its 184 miles away, and if its total crap when I get there I can walk away, but I think the guy is on the up n up. Guy is an aircraft mechanic and did the heads and tranny himself, questioned him extensivly and he seems to know his stuff.

Ok, I am going with the MM, I was not going to because MM says there is modification needed to the crossmember, but what the hell, if they are the best they are the best.:nice:

Ok, I thought the red for that year was Laser, but it does not look like Laser Red to me. Here are some pics, what do you think?

Looks clean...

One thing though, why does it have a honeycomb grille. I thought Cobras had no grille, at least I know my 97 didnt have 1. really no big deal, & nice car!!!!

That laser red looks good for its age...It is a color that only looks good when u keep it cleaned & waxed, otherwise it looks crappy when it fades & dulls out.

Thanks! I love the aero Cobras, I sold my Green 96 Cobra back in 99 to buy the new Hard Top Vette. The Vette was fast and handled awesome but I always missed the Cobra. I think $6K was a steal:D But you are right, I dont remember my 96 having a honeycomb grill.

The car is pretty dirty in thoes pictures, I will detail it this weekend and post some pics. The paint is a little faded so I figure I will clay it, seal it, glaze it, than give it a good wax and buff. Hope it works because I wont be able to move my arms the rest of the week:rlaugh:
