Well this is what I'm looing at getting pretty soon. Depends on your use as well. I'm racing the car at the strip from time to time. Lots of variable to look at. I like the solid lifter units myself...

I just picked up a CompCams XE262H to swap in place of my 280H (waaay big) off of the recommendation from a friend that is a Mustang owner as well as a salesman at the local speed shop.

Looking forward to less chop and more go down low.

Don't make the mistake I did and go too big on the cam if you want to daily drive it. 8mpg - it screams up top but suffers everywhere else... sure did sound awesome though.

I was going to suggest the XE268. I was running that in my 351w it was a little small for that engine but i think it would be great for a smaller SBF.

For a daily driver you most likely want a hydraulic flat tappet.

The differences are all in the lifters.

The roller cams require special retrofitting onto your block to work but have the advantage of less friction.

The mechanical (solid) cams are able to perform more reliably at higher rpms but have the side affect of being a bit more noisy and requiring a bit more maintenance than the hydraulic cams.

That's all I got.
