A month ago I finally hit the track again after garaging my car for 5 years and I had a blast with my new setup
. For the first few passes I was shaking off the rust and also trying to find the best launching technique. One pass I spun off the line and ran a 13.7 at 107mph, on another pass I got a slightly better launch but missed 4th :-/ (the easiest gear to get into) and pulled a 13.7 at 91mph, then later I launched at 3800rpm and bogged to a 13.4 at 106mph, and finally the day's best of 13.30 at 105mph by feathering the clutch from a 2700rpm launch. The only thing that kept me from launching at 4000rpm and higher was my fear of grenading my T5 or snapping an axle. Once I get it dyno tuned and step up from my 3:55's to some 4:10's, then I think I'll be at my stage one goal of 12.9's or lower. Stage two: 347 stroker or a boosted 331.
