Hey guys,
Me and my dad are planning to rebuild my 289 A code this summer. Our budget to spend is $2000 for parts. The rebuild kits are about $400 or so, and with the rest of the money I'm thinking about a new pair of aluminum heads and a new cam.

The intake manifold I have is the edelbrock performer and the carb is an edelbrock 4bbl 600 cfm.

What heads and matching cam would you guys recommend for price and performance?

What kind of performance do you guys think I can get with new heads and a cam w/ a stock engine rebuild and my intake and carb? Approximate HP and Torque?
