Being installed next wensday. They should be arriving tomorrow! A guy is gonna put them in for $225 and he said that should cover everything. This is the thing though. Can i drive it for a while before i put a speedcal on it without messing my speedometer up? Also i wanted to get a new triax shifter because all ive heard are good things about it. And i was thinking i could put that in the same time i put the shifter in and save a lot more time that way. Are the speedcal and shifter easy do-it-yourselfers for people who dont know jack(like me).

I think the guy was trying to rip me off buy selling me a custom chip for $400.

I drive a 02 gt (manual) and its stock, for now.

Speedcal I think is just plug her in. I'd wait to get the speedcal before the gears because it's adding "fake" mileage to the odometer.

You won't ruin anything by not utilizing the Speedcal but your speedometer and odometer will have false readings.

The tri-ax should take u less then an hour to install, the most difficult part of the install is gettin the stock shifter off and that's not too bad if u use a hammer to pry it with a couple of choice curse words it should pop off after a few seconds.

I didn't install a speedcal (I used the superchips max micro tuner to correct my speedometer) but I have one, I heard you have to go under the car to get at the necessary wires (it's not just plug her in but it's close), from the instructions it doesn't look that difficult.

Hope this helps.

Depends on what ratio you get, but I had 4.10s and drove around for a lil while with them before I corrected my speedo and when i was going like 40 I think my speedo read like 70, the faster you go the farther off it is.

there is a HUGE difference in your actual speed vs what your read out will display with 4.10's. If I were you I would go order that speed cal now so you don't melt away your odometer for no reason. Another thing... definitely go buy the steeda tri-ax... don't cheap out and go to UPR... buy the real deal, you will be extremely satisfied and you will never even have to think about missing another gear. Some others you might want to add to your list in the future are a better clutch and some stickier tires to get some traction... gl
