getting hot with the a/c

my car is getting hotter than normal when i turn the a/c on....i have a switch on the cooling fan so that i can turn it on high.....and it still gets hot....the needle goes to the "l" on my guage.....without the a/c on it will linger around the between "r and m"....



i have
-installed a 180 thermostat
-installed manual fan switch (high)
-drained and refilled coolant, also added a bottle of water wetter
-timing set at 9*

I'm having the same problems and I have a fluidyne rad. All I can think of is that the coil for the a/c in front of the rad is getting clogged up from all most 10 years of use. So when you run the a/c it's having a hard time transferring the heat and it restricts the air low to the rad and causes over heating when the cooling system is under a lot of load. I found a place that sells new coils for around $100 so I'm going to get a new one when I do my engine swap.
