Can I get better gas and maybe eliminate the pinging? I have been running 14* on 89 with no pinging but now that its warming up Im getting pinging. And which way do you turn the dist to bump it down? counter-clock wise?

Yea I didnt think Id be able to get by with 89 on 14* but I did. I might clean my MAF tomorrow when Im doing my O2 sensors.

And I have to take my UD pullies off too. Since its getting hotter I need the A/C and it drains the system fast like that.

When you retard the timing, the idle gets lower. I do think retarded is CCW, but the last thing I timed was a Chevy so I might be thinking of it (in my mind's eye).

I'd rather retard timing than buy higher octane fuel. This will leave you some fudge-factor room when it gets real steamy this summer (if it pings on 10* this summer, toss some higher octane in it).

Good luck.
