Ok, I'm getting some new wheels and tires for my GT and I can't decide if I want 18s or 17s...Late Model Restoration has some great wheel/tire package deals so I'll probably buy them there if I don't find anything at the Fun Ford Weekend in Atlanta.

I'm either gonna get:
18 inch anthracite Bullitts or
18 inch anthracite FR500s or
17 inch 03 Cobra's with the machined finish
Any suggestions? If anyone has any pics of a yellow GT with any of these wheels, I'd love to see them.

Also, what's the biggest tire you can fit in the wheel well of our cars with 18's? My car's dropped too so I know that effects it.

I'll put up a pic of my car up the way it is. I love the look of 18's, but I want as wide of a tire as possible. My current wheels are 18x9 all the way around and with 235/275 front and rear (I know the fronts are skinny, that's how they were when I bought itamnit.

18x8.5 255/40 18'S Front, 275 35 18'S Rear, but I know you can go with the 295/35 18s in the back without a problem, I just wanted them a little taller in the rear. The front rubs in super hard corners. I have no clue how far the saleen kit drops this thing, It was on when I bought the car. 2"? FR500's would look killer on that thing.......

I wish I got 18's. My 17's look too small. I like the FR500's. No problems with tire rub on my GTS. 265's upfront 285's outback.

Anybody got any pics of 18s or 17s on our cars? I just want to compare a little...

Anybody ever heard of runnin 315s on 18in wheels on our cars? I've heard you can get a 305 Nitto if you roll the fender lip I just wonder what kind of backspacing you'd need for that...

currently i have 17x9s all the way around with 255/45s front and 275/40s rear. i got those tires ( sumitomo ) shipped to the door for about $365. i have a set of 18x9 and 18x10 FR500s in the box but tires for those (sumitomo) are $662 shiped. thats for 265/35s and 285/35s. keep in mind both these sets are good tires and also are the cheapest. 18s are alot more pricey.

just my preference, i think 275s are a tad narrow for a 10" wheel. i wanted 295s but those are WAY higher.

btw- those prices are from tirerack

Thats why I didnt go 295's in the back, way more expensive, 1.2" wider. I dont make that much h/p anyhow. 18's are a little more pricey, depends on what you like more, yer money or yer car....

Hey fiveoho, you think you could send me a bigger side pic of your car? My email is HucksMali@yahoo.com
The whole reason for considering 18's is looks. They fill up the wheel well better, but your 17's look good...

NICE! Any issues with rubbing with the 295s? I'm considering getting rid of the quad shocks for a little more room...

well, again... my rear isnt lowered much.... i wanted a staggered look, i dont really rub... if i dropped it on the sportlines, id probably have a much greater chance of rubbing the wheel in the fenders... all in all, the only time i rub is at full lock to the left when turning

I run 245/40/18 front, and 285/35/18 rear on FR500's, I also have a 1.5 drop front and rear. I get a tiny bit of rub in the front when turning lock to lock. I believe it's just my wheel well insert, so more than likely it's a non issue. When I get new tires i'm going with 265/40/18 in the front, and more than likely 335/30/18's rear, i'll need to ditch the quad shocks and roll the fender lip and possibly a spacer. but it looks so darn good.

I have seen a couple with the michelin 335's, its a viper tire. The 95 stang I saw with them looked like a steamroller, it was awesome. He had them on a 10.5 inch 18's. I believe he said he had a 1" spacer as well, I dont remember. Dont get me wrong anything wider than the stockers look good. I just want people to look at it and say just what you two said.
