The fast Tucson cars were out together tonight. No one ran but it was still fun.

My car is a bit squirrelly in the top of third. I don't blame anyone that might not have wanted to run after seeing the car loose like it was (on 28x12.50 ET Streets). Fourth seemed ok but I have a little miss going on so I am going to change the plugs and gap them a little tighter.

After looking at the data logs I have decided that the dyno does a poor job of imitating the street. On the dyno I wasn't seeing 16 psi till around 6400 rpm. On the street I saw 16 psi at 6100 in third and 5400 in fourth. Needless to say I need to get my ass to the track and try turning the boost up on the big end.

Another funny thing about this mondo turbo is spooling back up between shifts. On one of my logs it showed a slow 1.4 second granny shift (0% TPS) from third to fourth gear and as soon as the throttle was re-opened the boost was instantly at 6psi. The wheel is so big and heavy that the car never has to "re-spool" the turbo. A little maybe but the lag is little when the boost is that high. It comes on strong at about 5psi.

It was a learning experience.
I did run across a '93 Cobra on the way home. Killed him in 2nd gear and saw him lift as I clicked 3rd. He asked if it had a supercharger. Guess he's never heard compressor surge before.

Do you ever find yourself just cruisng along, and gradually roll into boost, just to hear thew turbo whisstle, and the bov vent... i love it!

Its also entertaining to give the vettes, camaros, and modded mustangs alittle whistle, scare em off, lol.

All hell brakes loose when the boost comes on, its a thrill ride, no doubt
