GForceTransmission, Anyone know em ?

My best friend ran one in his car...noisy as hell but man that thing shifted awesome. Really a nice setup, it can be a little hard on the rear end though. This is the route I will be taking as soon as I can come up with the cash. Clutchless shifting sounds so awesome!

I just built one? the dog ring heilical gear set up,even opted for the .90 overdrive. the od is straight cut(the only way it comes)the heilical gears are not that noisy I can barley tell. but od sounds like a suppercharger(the next one I do will definatly be straight cut). the shifting is a little different around town cruising takes a certin touch to make it shift quiet, the shifting noise you get is just like the sound of a motorcycle trans (wile shifting). now the high rpm shifting does not require the aplication of the clutch. I find it shifts best if you just barley lift on the throttle and yank. in short I would say this trans is not for the faint at heart. hope this helps.

qdhrse thats the way the dude at gforce explained how to do it. I dont do it that often on the street, but at the race track I do not use the clutch for both upshifts and down shifts no problems yet. I guess I dont so much lift off the throttle as I blip it. chris

That's the way most oldtimers around here do it...told me it was called speed matching and as long as you get the RPMs right in the motor and trans, you don't need a clutch! :D All I know is riding shotgun when someone is doing that in a Saturn @ 6k is rather fun! :D
PS: heard good things about the Geforce, and I'm getting a Gforce T5 street kit after I've saved up the $$$ and killed the T5 :D

The guy at G force wants sell you a $2800 tranny every year. If you don't let off the gas and pull in the clutch, your shift will be just as fast. My car in race trim is on the ragged edge [hp] of what my G Force can handle.

How does this compare to the TKO500 you guys think. I am in the process of breaking my T5 so I am going to be in the market of a TKO500 and then this comes up. No synchros sounds nice.

Noisy mama...

Yes, I would like to go for the Helical "street" gearbox. Think my Richmound rear gears make noise, and a loud whine from the race gearbox, would make me go Mad-light :)
I also drive a lot in normal trafic, and do a little racing in the weekends.
Thinking of selling my T5 aftermarket,-93 model, BEFORE I crunch it.
We always want to go faster, so powershifting and a stong tranny is on my mod list.

Do you go to LACR often. I live in palmdale too. I was actually there wed night. If you are gonna sell that g force to upgrade let me know! Or call me up, I'd love to come take a look at your car. (661) 878-4788-Jeff

g-force

i'm getting one from them too. but my builder says that they are not making many gears because they are short on raw material. he's going to orlando for some dealers car show. have you guys heard anything? all i know is that the rebuild kit they make has the same gear ratios as the tremec tko but you get to keep the stock housing. that's why i'm getting one.

Anyone know how streetable the straight cut dog ring setup actually is? I'd love no syncros and WOT shifts, but I also like to drive my car daily in the summer.
yes it is streetable if you can take the whining......downshifts are a little harder to do though....all and all i think it is worth it since street racing is gay
