Guys, Gals:

I got a problem. Im 6'4 inches and built like offensive lineman. I bought an 89 mustang as a family project, but i am finding that i dont quite fit in it without feeling like my legs are folded in some ungodly configuration.

Is it possible to safely relocate the seat rails back enough to get me comfy leg room in the fox body stang?

I wouldn't see any problem with it. In fact a lot of racers do it for better center of balance but they also have to extend the steering column and pedals but you guys won't have that problem

ask a fab shop to see if they could make something up. Leave the car with them for the day and I bet they can help you out.

I've had nothing but good experiences with Blue Oval Industries. I'd recommend them highly.

For me, they did a horrible job packing them and lost the bolts and nuts in shipping, but a trip to home depot fixed that. And the extenders work great.

Extenders

Will the extenders work for aftermarket seats too? I dont plan to keep the stockers that came in my 89.

they're on the fence with me. couple bad experiences (missing & broken parts), but they have some good prices with decent shipping times

6'8" with extenders on the drivers seat. They work wonders. Def. worth every penny, along with a short throw shifter for more knee room.

I noticed the seat frame on Mustangs have 3 holes in each corner, which you can move the track back on the seat. Prolly won't be enough, but try that first before you buy the extenders.

OH didnt know that at all. Thanks for the info. Im sure i'll need a bit more room but we shall see. I notice that the shifter is really close to the dash.. Is there a long handle hammer shifter i could use?
