wht93gtEd: LOL. That was a funny oic you posted. My wife was laughing at it too.

One point I'd like to add, it's my opinion that QB's that play in domed stadiums do have an advantage. Domes/controlled/dry environments are much more conductive to the passing game than an outdoors stadium. It's probably the #1 rason why the NFL has evolved from a run oriented league to a pass happy league. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 50 TD record broken again within 10 years.

I wish someone would explain this to Kevin Gilbride.

I agree with you on something

Maybe not 10 years but perhaps 15.

I just dont think that saying its equal playing indoors VS Outdoors. Maning does not have to deal with a cold ball, a wet ball, windy conditions, snow. How many times do you think a QB has to adjust to wind conditions when all Manning has to do is heave it up and let it fly. Doing anything indoors VS Doing it outdoors in the elements doing it outdoors is always more of a challange

how do you figure 15 years??? when did Manning break the record.. and then Brady a few years later comes along and breaks it again.. What makes you think someone else won't come along and break the record again in a few years.. be it Brady or Manning again

No one will break it as long as Manning/Brady are still playing. When do you think we will see in the NFL 2 QB's the same caliber as Manning/Brady at the same time?

What we are seeing now with these two are historical. They are breaking the records that have been standing for along time, It will be awhile once again before they are broken. IMO there are no other capable QB's in the leauge besides these two that would break the TD record again.

IM not just saying anyone else.. if you read my post i also included both brady and manning.. because its is most def a possibility that one of the two will break the record AGAIN.. be it manning or brady, before thier careers are over no?

My question is do you think Moss is going to stay in New England or move on and get a huge pay day. Id vote for the later but who knows.

Maybe, maybe not. Brady & Manning both had quite a few years before they broke the record. Every few years, some team pulls a QB right out of their ass like the Pats and the Cows, who turns out to be very good. A kid like Tony Romo could possibly break the record someday if he continues to improve.

You need:
1) a very good accurate passer
2) a strong oline who gives the QB plenty of time
3) a dream team of receivers

Both the Pats & Colts had those 3 in place when the record was set.

At first I thought he would move on.. But two things I noticed..

1. He bought a house here.. A big house with a lot of land... Everytime I have seen a one year rental player here they always rented a place.. Most of them rent suites in boston.

2. the way he talks sounds like he wants to stay.. Plus the only other place he would see the same production would be indy.. Why would he want to go play with some scrub qb someplace and put up crapy numbers. Dallas is out of the question since there is no way him a T.O could be on the same team peacefully.. I don't think Moss wants to get into another Oakland situation.

Plus with the improvement this team has seen with him and how he has been a model player here I think N.E will give him a big payday..

I didnt realize moss only had a one year deal? I believe after this history making season he will most definatly stay. Be in the spotlight, thats where a man of his character needs to be.

Micheal Vick bought the house in Virginia but never lived there. These guys have so much money they can afford to do that and move on in a year or two.

I see what you mean, I was looking at it in terms of their records being broken once they are no longer playing anymore. Like Manning is doing to Mario's records now.

So then should we adopt a strategy that if a bowl team breaks the record we put a mark next to his name, to signify that the conditions were not the same or unfair? Kind of how Roger Marris got shafted when he broke Ruth's record?

No I never said that, Im just saying Manning had a more easy ride to 49 then Brady did to 50 considering Manning plays many games indoors where Brady does not.

Because they never really have to anyone else before. Even Brady is under paid for how good he is. He could have left NE and got WAY more $$.

My guess is Moss will either settle for a little less in NE or go for the last huge contract somewhere else.

Thats ridiculous, you are just making excuses. But using your logic does that mean the defenses stats are under rated since half their games in offense friendly domes. But all I am going to say is the 04 Colts were a much more balanced offense than the 07 Pats. Manning had 49 TDs in 497 attemps, Brady had 50 in 578 attemps. Something tells me Manning would have had at least 2 TDs in the extra 80 attemps but what do I know.

They went out and spent the money to get players like Adilus Thomas. They know if they want to have the suscess they have had this year they have to pay to get some of it. They realize now what they can do when they give Brady quality receivers.

making excuses for what? Brady has the record whats there to make excuses for? If anything his record is more impessive b/c it was not done in a climate controlled dome.

New England threw the ball much more b/c the running game was banged up most of the year. Maroney didnt come into this year healty and they lost Morris early on. Maroney spent much of this year hurt. I belive they only uses him as much as they needed to (to keep the defense honst) and realied on the passing game the rest of the time. With Watson, Moss, Welker, Stallworth, Gafney why would they not throw the ball a lot? Why do you think teams like Pitsburgh and Jacksonville run a lot? B/c thats what they are good at and until someone can stop it why change it?

I am not debating Brady doesnt have the record, it just took him almost 100 extra pass atempts and an extra game to get it.

Manning played half of his games in a dome and the other teams in his division are all warm weather cities...

He had no bad weather or even cold games in 2004.. closest thing they had to a cold game was nov 21st at chicago..

Brady had two games with 30+ mph winds two games with rain/snow... plus all of the games at the end of the season were outdoor cold weather games..

Brady had only 2 dome games this season both in the first half of the season.. Historicly both manning and brady play much better indoors.

gloryify Manning all you want, may have taken brady 100 more passes but he didnt do it indoors either. Call it even. Either way Brady is #1, Manning is #2. Now hes got the record and the rings. That wont change no matter how many passes he throws.
