Personally glasspack would sound like an old chevy pickup truck (read$$).

I'm kind of in the same boat. I have an o/r H pipe, Flows, and headers. I LOVE the sound, but sometimes I want something just a little bit louder. I hate it when those y-piped & dumped LS1's drive by me and I can't hear my own car, lol.

I've been wondering what SLP's would sound like with an H. I know they sound awesome with an X. The general consensus is NOT to use a "chambered muffler" with an X. So does that mean you shoudn't use a "straight through muffler" with an H?

I have 12 inch glasspacks on my 94. I personally love the sound but they are VERY loud. They are true duals- no h or x pipe. About 2000 RPM they hammer very nice and over 3000 RPM they hammer till redline. You can keep them quiet driving around shifting out around 1800 or so and they idle fairly quietly. I've had mine like this for about a year and I've never gotten any crap from cops but I don't know how anal the cops are in ur area about noise. It's not louder than a Harley with straight pipes, so I don't know how much complaining they could do. Unfortunately I don't have a sound clip or anything.

Exactly....you'd be better off running straight pipe before glasspacks.........loud and obnoxious........

I think I'm the only one here that's not running and O/R pipe and wants to make my car quieter!

I LOVE my straight pipes. And yes they are VERY loud. But thats how I like it.

Before I put the side exits on them they were just coming out after the cats, it sounded ok. More loud and it didnt sound greaat. But just 4 feet of pipe on each side with a bend to the side made it sound ALOT better. It has a "pop" in it now.

Heres a little clip: http://www.automodding.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/10000291/cat/507/si/side pipes/perpage/12

LoL, I had just the catback on mine for awhile and didnt want to upgrade to the offraod h-pipe in-fear of it being too loud in the car, I put the off-road pipe on and now i want it louder ... Hence the Headers and Cam going in ... cant wait to fire her up, heads are on the garage floor atm

By the way- when you say "raspy" do you mean like an x-pipe raspy sound? Mine don't sound raspy like that and they don't pop either. I think it has to do with their being pipe after the muffler. My buddy's 05 GTO has 18' glasspacks all the way at the rear and he gets the popping sound when the rpm is coming down. If you don't want something too loud maybe put 18 inch glasspacks. If you like it and want it louder try the 12's.

ALWAYS FUN! When I bought my car it had Flowmaster 40's and dumps. I had to take them off one day when I took the driveshaft out so before I put the mufflers back on I had to take it out for a spin! Kind of fun with basically open headers

I ran my car like that for about 2 months. Then I jsut added about 4 feet of pipe on each side and made side pipes. Its still like that.

FYI- I finally got around to ordering a digital camera (off e-bay) and it said it takes digital videos, etc. When I get it if I can figure out how to work it I'll see if I can make a sound clip or vid of my car. It said it would be here in a few days...

Eric.....that was the first thing I did to mine was remove the stock mufflers and ran straight pipe...I like the way it sounded driving but when you rev it it popped too much for me...I removed the cats for the H pipe and put dumped 40 series on at the same time.......I actually think the flows dumped are louder.........or at least sound that way in the "cabin"..........maybe just the resonation sounds......
