Has anybody had the CDC glassback installed on their s197? Just got my 07!! and have been debating it. I would really appreciate if anyone has a metallic alloy w/ glassback post some pics or send them to me so i can see what it would look like.

Thanks in advance,
matt

I'd love to hear some feedback too. I called two local "official" installers and they said $2800 to $3500. Ouch.

$2800 to $3500 with labor or just for the part itself? If that's with labor I'm surprised it's that cheap.

my closest installer quoted me 2900 which is a good chunk of change, but i also understand there is a lot of work. They want to keep the car for 2 days to do it. I figure it's half price of a convertible and living in Iowa you really don't get much chance to use a convertible so that's why i was leaning toward the glassback. However before i go chopping the roof off my new car i want to make DAMN sure it is what i want. ya know.

I was guessing $5000. Did you see the Mustang with the glassback roof auctioned by Barrett-Jackson? The commentators loved the roof.

My wife bought her 2006 with the glassback....it is really a unique option to have and it does look very cool.

They are working on one now for my GT500... with the stripes inside the glass as tint so you can still see through them.

Ive been looking at the glassback roof as well and i was wondering how prone to breaking it is, and does it have and structural downfalls?

I was told the design of the glassback is as strong if not stronger than the factory roof. The glass structure has to meet strict DOT guidlines and all.

When they cut the hole in the roof, they do not remove any structural material.

And the sheet metal that is removed, the glass that is used to replace it is stronger than the metal.
