GMS tb problem

Ive had this GMS TB on & off 4 times. Another forum's members state that the problem with it lagging alot is in the tune. It is a GMS tuner. I know, bad mistake number 2. Redfire 05 had a problem with his BBK. Is the solution the same for me ? Will the TB I have be correctly fixed using the same procedure or is it a different animal ? Seat of my pants dyno said it was better, but, the lag between gears is hard on my clutch and sanity. HELP !!

Before installing any aftermarket TB, you must get the reference voltage from the factory one, then when you bolt on the aftermarket you need to set the TPS voltage to the reference voltage from factory. I personally have the GT-500 TB that already comes with ne electronics and I've never had a problem.

The only bad news on them is that people dont know how to set them up correctly. There is a setting in the PCM that controls "dash pot" this is what needs to be set in the tune correctly to fix the idle issues where it does not return to idle quick enough. It can also have a higher idle (idling lean) because the throttle blade now may have more air comining in at idle.
This is corrected by richening the idle fuel mixture.
The TPS voltage isnt necessarily what you need to look at. In fact, the aftermarket throttle body that I have installed (130 Mm monoblade) on my car uses the OEM TPS sensor and the OEM throttle body motor. So where would you have a voltage change? It is the same electronics, just a different billett throttlebody and blade. I think GMS may use the OEM electronics also.
Do they have you check voltage?

***NOTE**** I dont know about the GMS tuner but in the SCT world the dash pot setting is contolled in the Advantage III software only. The end-user can not set it in the hand held. You have to put the setting in the tune - not change it in the handheld!

Thanks for the info. The TB has the Ford logo on it. No where does it say Granatelli. Will switching the electronic parts from one to the other solve this ? I am planning to go with an SCT tuner and possibly a C & L CAI in the future. AFTER I'm not on "vacation". I must be the shopping cart with the bad wheel in the grocery store of life.

This TB came with the adapter plate. Bolts on in 15 minutes including farting around with the shaker scoop. If I am getting this correctly, the electronics on this TB are NOT the problem ? Switching them with the stock unit is NOT what I should do ? I need an SCT tuner and a better CAI.
