Hi, I recently asked about getting a GT or a Cobra. Now I am somewhat set on a GT, probably a 99-02 model.

Can anyone post a mod and/or price list for an economical/reliable way to get 400-450 rwhp, either N/A or Turbo/Supercharged. Nitrous is not an option at this time.. but may be in the future.

Any help/comments would be appreciated!

You will have to supercharge or turbocharge it to get the 450rwhp goal. Expect to spend at least $5k on upgrades.

To get 400 REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER out of a 99+ GT your definetly going to want or have to get a super/turbo charger...cuz I doubt you wanna take the motor out and build a new block... yeah didnt think so... I would go with the Procharger P1SC w/ 3 core intercooler about 10lbs of boost, your going to need to get bigger injectors most people use 42's (a little overkill but) 36 or 38's will be fine. Also a good investment and probably to hit the 400 mark at the wheels you'll need atleast a good catback exhaust (use offroad x or h pipe if you can) and if you can afford it get some headers. Now the 99 GT's are 260hp at the flywheel I believe so I would guess its probably making about 220 at the rear wheels the procharger at 10lbs and 3 core intercooler should give you 150 RWHP if you buy a chip and have it dyno tuned which is also a good investment. with that and a good exhaust you should be at 400 RWHP (around or about maybe over)

Mustangs cannot exceed stock horsepower, the motors are built really cheap. Dont even waste your money.
