With thoes speeds, if you got her to hook it seems 12.2s are possiable. If all the stars alighned just right you might even pull a high 11

hehe. that kick's a$$.

I was gonna be happy makin it down the track once. But to break into the 12's I was even happier.

Most important I had fun and now I'm addicted. There is one more track event this year and I'll try to make that and as long as I can grab some tires in time.

1.) If I get slicks will I grenade my 8.8? or stick to some nitto 555 drag radials?

2.) And if I unbolt my exhaust from the h-pipe back will I lose power? It seems every drag car is running without mufflers and I was wondering if I could gain or lose. THe tires are darn close to the exhaust tips (1/4") and I don't wanna put dumps on the mufflers.

Very nice my friend! Sounds like all you need is some traction. What you want to concentrate on is your 60ft times. Reaction times mean jack squat in a race so don't worry about them.

With a nice set of Drag Radials a 1.8 60ft time is a realistic goal. If attained you will net a 12.4-12.3 ET. And the #1 thing of all is that it sounds like you had a blast!

Congrats!!

Do you have sub frame connectors?Torque box reinforcements? Ever go to a Dyno?
Stock control arms? What kind of suspension?

I have welded subframes, moroso drag springs and kyb gas shocks in rear. Had to remove quads, and have stock control arms on the 8.8 with 3.73's.

Replacing the control arms for sure over winter. Never had the car dynoed or tuned other than all the work me and my dad to it. Runs amazingly well.

That's a sweet track!! Nice and wide. Doesn't look very crowded though. That's cool though, makes for a lot of runs!!

Yep street tires. 15x3.5 on front with a 165 tire and a 15x8 5.5bs with a 275/60/15. no name tires. I had a 245/60/15 on a 4.5bs but they rubbed the fender. I like the look of these much better!

shift fast. dont do a burnout on your street tires, i dont even think a grazing is nessicary. rev to like 2-3 ish and dump the clutch was my best results.

That launch advise is NOT what you want to do with a good amount of power on street tires... Not at all.

Nice runs, congrats on 12s, and good luck... now that your addicted, lol!

I'm placing an order tomorrow for some control arms and maybe some Nitto 555 drag radials. Hopefully I will get them by the 27th!

Anyone recommend a tire distributor? I was thinking of discount tire direct ........what do ya think?

Have you been on those 555's yet? My buddy had them on his car (400hp all motor) and it just destroyed them in 1st and 2nd and in the upper RPMs of 3rd.

I had them on my IROC 350 tune port with nitrous...I had 3.42's and the nitto
555r's (DRAG RADIAL)....I ran constiant 1.71's 1.73's spraying right off the line...never even a chrip out of them...Car ran in the high 12's...Maybe on a car that is in the low 12's high 11's maybe it wouldnt hook i dont know i had very good luck with them...Hey for that matter most guys running the SRT's like mine cant hook on the stock F1's but i run 1.80's with mine and again im spraying off the line...so maybe its me...lol.....

No. I think I read another thread where you recommended against them. I was looking at them as they were a great price. If I could swing the extra money I'd grab the mickey's. But there is too many other things I want to do yet............
