You just have to love cars, everything seems to go at once. Yes you can use your 78 tank on your 75. As for rims pick up a summit mag and take a look though it or call the tech line, they are usually pretty good at helping you get what you need.

I heard once that the '78 tanks were different, but haven't been able to confirm. I can't see why they would be. Do you have the plastic tank in your driver fender? If so it is another potential source of leaks. If you find that the '78 tank is different than the '75, let us know.

Even if the '78 tank is "rust free" you are very likely to find a bunch of junk in the bottom. I recommend having it cleaned and lined. If you want to do this yourself, the kit from Eastwood Restoration Supplies works pretty well. Here are a few pics of the '78 tank that I relined. Not perfect, but it won't have rust for a while. Just don't do it in hot weather like I did, and plan for more than 8 hours total.

Finding 4 on 4.25" pattern wheel with a small or no offset in the proper width is getting tougher all the time. Here are a few that I have been able to find:
http://www.eaglewheels.com/028.htm
http://www.eaglewheels.com/171.htm
http://www.eaglewheels.com/203.htm
http://www.eaglewheels.com/206.htm
http://www.primewheel.com/Primecatalog/pdetail.asp?model=261

Not all of these may be available.

And fitment may be a problem also...15"x7" with 4" backspacing and 0 offset may require some wheelwell adjustment. I would talk to a tire and wheel place before ordering.

Let us know what you decide.

Hey I just remembered I have an old set of "Chrome Keystone Klassics" for the II that could be refinished (paint the centers) You can have em for 50 bucks + you pay shipping.
they look like these...

You got a Pep Boys auto parts in your area? They always have a decent set of 'chrome' or even 'aluminum' wheels for the II for under $90 a wheel. Might have to order them, but they are still available. Eagle alloys makes a bunck as well as U.S. wheel.

I missed how your tires going bad led to the need for new wheels. Let me know if it works so I can try it with my wife too! :nice:

well my wrecked car has a brand new set of tires that are only a week old...so i'm looking for a 14 inch set of wheels to fit my new tires...instead of my worn out tires on my stock 13 inch wheels...it's kinda complicated.....

OK, I'm with you now. Sorry to hear about the misfortune. The inexpensive choice is to find a set of used Fox body wheels or check out the wrecking yards for a set that will fit. I may have two 14 x 6 Western turbine style wheels in the back of my storage shed. I'll check when I get back in town later this week.

I have a set of the Eagle Alloys Series 028 on my car like 78CobraII posted a link for. 14 x 6.5 all the way around with 245/60/14 on the back and 225/60/14 on the front. No rubs, no fender adjustments even with the stock Ghia wheel well moldings. Pretty cheap, light, and they look allright. See if there are any local Mustang clubs with classifieds in your area. Always used 4 luggers around my area (Houston), but gotta watch the fox wheels as some have way too much backspacing for a II. Might find a nice set of used Weld Draglites for under $500. You can always ask if you can test fit them before you buy since they are used. Usually not the case with new wheels. Sorry, not sure about the tanks. If you don't redo the tank in the 78' and it fits you might want to put a second filter inline before the fuel filter. Get one of those big clear ones so if there is any debree you can see it easily.

My advice is to check eBay or another on-line auction. Sometimes some real odd-ball parts will go through and will go for very little.

Since there are over 30K listings just for wheels right now, you need to limit you search a bit. Try this search:
http://motors.listings.ebay.com/Whe...rtorderZ2QQsosortpropertyZ2QQsotimeZ1QQsotrZ1

This still gets you over 400 items, so you can search on "4 lug" or "4.25" to narrow it further.

Search once a week or so and in a month or so you'll know what is likely to show up and for how much.
