Going to the 1/8th tonight, give me tips please

I was going to loose the spare tire and buy a bag of ice. I really want to hit the 8's in the 1/8th... what do you guys think? Will it be worth a couple tenths in ET...

Thanks, I just got the itch to see 8's, know what I mean. I guess I got bit by the bug bad... So spare tire and jack, drop the air pressure in the tires a bit and ice the intake... not going to amount to much???? I'm going to give it a shot regardless...

Thanks for the tips... I really appreciate it. However, apparently my car didn't feel like playing today. After my second pass (which I missed 3rd on and totally screwed up the pass) I headed for the pits for a cool down. The track was horrible tonight and my first pass of the night resulted in spinning 1st and 2nd bad... So anyways, after second I headed for my pit for a bit of cool down. I raise the hood and what do I find? Collant spraying out of a pinhole in one of the hoses... I'm like WTF?!??!? So I let it cool down, then leave. By the time I get home it's 9 something. Car wasn't leaking too bad when I left, but by the time I got home it was @ a pretty steady stream... I estimate it drained about 2 gallons on the way home. Of course of all days it would happen on this day. My other car (corolla) is in the shop because the dealership didn't torque the crank pulley down correctly after having the timing belt replaced, so it fell off and the car isn't due back until tommorow afternoon. I have my last final of the semester tommorow @ 9 and then I also have my first day at my new job (making 40k starting plus overtime if I want, plus Christmas bonus, and it's out at 4 so I can continue school) so I can't be late. Naturally no auto store or garage is open at this time. So I rigged a garden hose to work in place of the stocker. I believe it's the return line from the block so I'm hoping it works at least until the end of the day when I can get a new one. I used heavy duty garden hose so at least it's thicker. I let it run for about an hour with no leaks. I poked it and prodded it and it seemed to hold up fine. We'll see tommorow I guess... Anybody wanna take bets on whether I make it to my final, pass it, and then show up to work on-time? *sigh* what a day...

Thanks for all the input guys... I think you're right about the cool down. I ran the 9.084 after about 30 minutes of cool down... next time I'm going to ice the intake good. I really want to get solid into the 13's on street tires before I start looking at new rubber. I just want the bragging rights of running easy 13's on crappy rubber... After all that I'm gunnin for the 12's, with lots more parts of course...
