I didn't know that you wanted to keep the a/c. That makes it a whole lot harder!

bolted the headers up today to mock up for the crossover.. Finally realized I can't do much more without having the actual housing in hand.. so when it gets here, hopefully I can make progress. Looks like the pass side actual header wont really require any work, besides cutting off the collector, and welding the 90* 3" bend with T4 flange on.. Drivers side header is going to need about 2" cut out of it, to shorten it up, to clear the a/c compressor. I still need to find the a/c p/s bracket! Anyone have one to donate? Guess il check out some local yards for the 5.0 Thunderbirds ( same exact setup)..Unless someone has some close up pics of the compressor area?

Have you ever thought about buying a mig welder instead of paying a shop to do the work for you? That's what I did...you can take a look at my diy thread in the talk section if you havent already.

While it never hurts to learn welding, some folks dont have the time and patience to mess with this stuff
(atleast at that level). not to mention the down time, when trying to attempt this on your own with your daily driver.. Makes it alot easier if all you have to do is basically install a premade setup and run some oil/vacuum lines.

BTW, I noticed you purchased the B&G twin headers.. Makes a turbo build 100 times easier with the headers done, but props to ya for finishing it off yourself. Once you do one or two, they get pretty easy.

I hear ya. Learning to weld can be very usefull. You need subframes...weld em youself.

As far as the headers go...their quality is excellent!!!

My setup is so far away from home (3 hour drive to work in the stang )...it was just inpractical for me to fit the headers as well. If I had a garage...hell, even a house I would have attempted it myself .

Oh, did I mention that I bought the welder right before I started the project...layed down a couple of beads on some scrap and went at it . They may not look professional, but theyll get the job done.

ok i'm the stupid one, but oink hit it right on the nose for me. this is my daily driver and i can't have it unavailable for the 3 months it would take me to do it (1 hour at a time after the wife and kids are in bed). it is just not practical for me at this time. i hope to learn to weld in a few years, after the kids are grown up and i get my life back. i can afford a week of down time while the family is at the beach in the summer tho. i'll drive my mother in law's car ...

yea, I just emailed them to get an idea too.. Man do they have alot of parts car 94/95's.. what a shame! I noticed on MPS site they dont list them, but the alt bracket (which i already have) is around $95 bucks I believe. Then agian, MPS WAYY overcharges.

excellent ... any news yet on the housing? the guy was supposed to ship it over the weekend.

if you need the rest of the turbo, let me know and i'll get it in the mail asap.

will i be able to set it to 6 psi in the beginning? i am very worried about something bad happening because of possibly running too lean.

Yes, the housing arrived last night when I got home. Only thing I see is the housing currently has no 4 bolt or V band flange.. I'l have to make a post on TM.com about it. I might be able to just TIG on a v band flange..Worse case, if we cant use the housing, I can probably get my buddy to give me, or sell me very cheaply ( or trade if your cool with it) a housing of equal value ( and a/r #) that has the V band flange already.

Anyhow, thats the least of my concern. I've been messing around with header ideas, and believe I found something that'll work. Im going to mess around with a few more ideas and do more mock up today, if I can get around to it.
It's just much more involved and tricky using stock headers to work with all those accesories to loop around and clear all the lines/hoses,ect. Fun Fun!!

Yo uattach the housing to the corssover tube iwth that lil thing? Couldnt that leak? Looks like a good idea for a downpipe so you can disconnecct it easy to change plugs or soemthing.

good news that the housing arrived yesterday. i can now leave positive feedback for the seller.

is it wierd that there is no flange? i'm cool with trading housings if that works best for you.

sorry about the a/c. i do need to keep it tho, net because it is necessary in md, but because it is my daily driver. if using a stock header on the pass. side but a fabbed one on the drivers side makes life easier for you, please feel free to go that route.
