Congrats!!! I personally like the previous STI body style better, but its still a badass car I think it needs some better, wider shoes & a tad bit lower stance. I wonder if it will smoke my Mach 1

Yes You cant compare RWHP with AWHP...its not even close unfortunatly Iv ran a 260AWHP 06 WRX and it put up one heck of a fight! I still drove away once I hook up, but I wasnt pulling anywhere close to as fast as I would have liked to . I never underestimate them...especially the EVOs.

yeah but the small turbo's they have will make up for it.

Not initially.....they don't have the huge amount of lag that the old turbo cars of the 80's did, but you still need to spin them up a little to get them to perform. Never was a fan of small displacement turbo cars. The powerband is always to short and "peeky" for my taste.

So your saying that my Mach 1 wont hang with even a stock STI or Evo? I know from a dig they are pretty nasty, but from a roll, it should be a good race? The HP & TQ #'s arent much different from mine.

No you should beat it, even if you were stock. From what I have seen, they make 22X AWHP...an 06 STI that is. I have also seen that the best time in a stocker is like a 13.0 @ 103.5. Not bad for 220AWHP . I know for a fact that my car stock wouldnt do that....actually it went 14.4 @ 96.5 LOL.
And stock GTs usually make 22X...so thats a large difference IMO.

Maybe its weight, but I generally see a tred of teh AWD cars making better use of the power they do have at the tires. But thats just my observation.

congrats on the sti. I am not too big of a fan of those cars but if i had to pick between that and an evo it would be an sti hands down. evos are cheap inside. I dont know who has seen the top gear episode between the evo and the sti but man they were ragging on them so bad calling them ugly and the evo was pretty much falling apart on the inside lol.

Agreed...but i was more or less looking at the trap. NOWAY my car would have went 103.5.
And that 96.5 run was with a K&N filter with a home made ram air setup...so not even 100% stock.

But the BEST STI run vs the BEST GT run= 13.0 @ 103.5 VS 13.9 @ 100.

No doubt it's faster than a GT...but it's no Terminator.

Very sweet ride. After driving a friends EVO-VIII around one day, I never underestimate boosted imports. Car felt 2x as fast as mine. Oh and I actually felt like I had control with the AWD.

Oh, but I still believe if we both rolled up to a light, the stang always gets more attention and thumbs ups

Yeah not where I'm at.

I'm just learning how to drive this thing man is it different from the GT. I forgot to say it also has some sort of race clutch, another thing to learn.

But man is this thing QUICK! 330 at the wheels is no joke as I have found out. Also, since the turbo spools, it feels even faster than it is (comparing it to a similar V8 with it's flatter torque curve).

It sure is strange though taching at 2k at 40 mph in FIFTH gear, unlike the 75-80 it was in the GT.

STi is more comparable to a Mach or 99-01 Cobra while a GT is comparable to a rex.

I seen a few running mid 13s trapping ONLY 98-99 mph

Sick ride dude. It looks amazing. That 330awhp has to be a huge jump from your gt . I wish i had a sti sometimes, but then i hear the rumble of my gt and i change my mind.
