Ok there is a shop here in Youngstown, Ohio that has a new Mustang brand dyno. I can get an hour on it with the wideband o2 setup for 150.00.I thought it might be a little expensive, but oh well. I have a Diablo chip that came with the car when I bought it. I removed the chip, because i could not run above 10* of timing without detonation.Without the chip I could run around 13* before starting to notice pinging. Car seemed to run better without chip, at least more torque.
So my questions are how would you setup for a dyno tune? Should i install the chip and back down the timing a bit to start, or run without the chip first and then try to put it in after a pull or two? How much more HP can that chip really make? This is in my 94 cobra, here are my mods:351W roller Trick flow cam (stage1). GT40 lower and a downs box upper, 30LB injectors, Edelbrock heads, 1.6 roller rockers, 80mm mass air, 70mm TB. I believe my compression is around 10 or 10 1/2 to 1. because I run 94 octane and can still only run around 13* of timing. What do you think I can expect for HP and Torque? I know it will be a bit lower on the Mustang Dyno compared to a Dynojet but about how much difference is there? Thanks.....Phil. Sorry for such long posts. Also I have an adjustable F/P regulator.
