Hey guys,

I'm sure there have been a million threads on this, but obviously search isn't availiable right now. Anyway, I'm looking for a set of headers for my 94 GT, more specifically a set that is easy to install. I know some brands/types are easier to fit then others. Just looking for suggestions. Thanks, let me know.

I'm going to buy a set of BBK ceramic coated shorty headers (not equal length) this week. Since I run a Fox TB setup I'm going to run the fox headers, not the 94-95 style with the EGR bung.

You can go with cheaper or more expensive, but I think these are the best value.

I have FRPP shorty. I had bbk shorty, Not much difference, You will need stage 8 locking bolts for FRPP shorty due to flange thickness. BBK was just fine, FRPP is expensive, BBK is cheaper and flows the same. Basically ALL shorties are the same. If you get bbk get ceramic coated, same price as buying FRPP stainless.

Another vote for BBK shorty non-equal.

Mine took a long time to install because I did the whole exhaust system, removed several parts for easier access, and my roommate had to cut and weld my stock EGR tube to fit the BBK headers(I got the headers used without the proper BBK EGR tube).
No complaints though.

Welcome to 94-95 :SNSign:

You say easy install and that would be unequal shortys

If you are stock or got just a few bolt ons you won't gain
much power

You don't give any idea about your goals or plans for the car
but
Now ... is the time to do your research about shortys or LT's

In a nutshell ... both will be close to the same peak gain
but
When talking about a NA combo

LT's can give a good bit more low & mid range torque over shortys
but
If you looking for just a small amount of gain ........

I might not even consider any kind of headers.

Depends upon your goals for the car ... don't ya see

Good luck with your decision

Oh Yeah ... I saw no sig (you'll get more replies to your Q's with
one in place) so ... If by chance you are still stock ... the best mod
for the entire exhaust system as far as gain for the buck will be
the mid pipe.

If you are looking for used headers stay away from MAC... I got mine used and because of the individual flange design (each tube has it's own flange) I ended up having to wrestle the header into place and even make some of the bolt holes larger...

Don't buy the summit brand headers. I had to send them back. The BBK shorties ceramic coated... are currently on my new engine. They fit great. I went with the fox headers as I deleted the EGR.

Thanks for the replies guys. BTW I was a member awhile ago, but have long since forgot my password or email address that the name was linked to. Anyway, my long term goals for the car probably inlcude getting a crate 302 once the stock one is not worth fixing. I haven't had any problems thus far, knock on wood, but it has almost 140k on the clock. So, I just got a summer internship this summer and will be bringing in some dough and want to get a little something for my toy you know. I was thinking about bbk LT headers (ceramic coated) with the short h-pipe since I have been browsing. Are these worth the cash? How's the install with long tubes? Where's the cheapest place to buy them? Any info would be good.

Thanks

EDIT: I will also be getting a new intake soon too. Hope to do the install in the same weekend, but that's a whole other thread.

140K equals just broke in. Mine made it 198K on the bottle for 6.5 years.

Ive got BBK Ceramic Lts there great, install was easy you have to unbolt engine from mounts and lift one side at a time. took me awhile to relieze that, the ceramic coating dropped header temp 200* And they sound great.

had BBK shorties on my fox and Mac shorties on my 95. no problems with either but both were already installed on the cars before i purchased. the mac's i have now have some miles and years on them. they arent coated or anything and they still look very decent.

someone once said to stay away from equal length shorties and go with unequal lengths. cant remember the reason. may have been the install?
