About six months ago I converted from my C-4 and installed an AOD that I had rebuilt at a local transmission shop. I started to notice a leak at the converter area recently, and I really didn’t want to remove and replace this 175 lb transmission on my back again, so I took it back to the same shop.
He said “Bring it in on Friday, so I can let it sit all weekend to see exactly where it is coming from”.
I called Monday at 3PM to check on the status and he said it was done. In less than a day, they had removed the transmission, replaced the bushing and seal in the pump housing, installed a rebuilt converter and re-installed the transmission. I asked him how much I owe and he said “It’s on me”. Apparently the old AOD converter which I re-used, was not concentric at the input shaft end.
Wow, I will be going to El Paso Transmissions for any necessary future work on my Stang or my Truck.
