good H/C/I combo...

hey guys.... whats a good Heads, cam's and intake are good and popular combo? im looking for around 300wrhp hopefully.... wanting to run 12's on DR's...

how are the AFR 185 heads? i dont need to worry about emssions at all... have to love FL....

anyone recommend a cam, intake, and heads? thanks.

Decent Budget.....

Trickflow package for $2000
includes
Twisted Wedge Heads
Street or Heat intake
Stage one Trcikflow Cam
and once again a free flowing full exhuast with long tubes.

TIGHT BUDGET....

GT-40 heads
Cobra Intake (used)
Crane Cam
Free flowing exhuast....
The last combo probably wont get you the 300 rwhp but it will put you close to 12's on DR's...

If you have the '01 GT that is in your sig, you might want to head over to the 4.6 forums. I don't think many of us will be able to help you here. If you have a 5.0 though: AFR 165's/FTI custom grind cam/Edelbrock Performer will get you close to 300rwhp. The Trickflow kit is also good.

The AFR-185's on a stock bottom end might be a little too much, most people use AFR-165's

AFRs are badass, but they aren the only thing taht makes power

honestly I have never seen a94-95 AFR 302 setup touch the trick flow setups I have seen.
Just dont use the trick flow cam.

well the AFR'S might flow a little better out of the box and they have smaller valves on the 165 so better velocity, but they are gonna run about 300 more than the twisted wedge heads and my guess is that they would only make about an extra 5 hp on a Full HCI.....lol please dont slaughter me afr fans.

By looking at the flow rates in the FAQ up above I would tend to agree. Then again, flow rates arent everything when it comes to heads.

I am thinking a set of Trick Flows with a VERY healthy cam and a Cobra intake when I do HCI.
