I've been lurknig around here for a wile trying to figure out wht setup i want to go with for my LTD. I'm looking to get about 300 hp to the wheels.
so far i've figured out I want:
chp 306
afr 185's
tfs r intake
not sure on cam (recomendations?)
and a 6lb powerdyne to top it off
along with the usual t/b maf injectors, etc....
any help or coments would be awsome nothings really set in stone, just want to get it rolling so its done by march.

Well, I'm no expert but sounds like you'll get 300 or more to the ground with the combo you have now and a deceint (sp?) cam. LTD is a 5.0? My knowledge is limited. A lot of people like the Trick Flow stage 1 camshaft. Most will tell you to stay away from the FRPP alphabet cams, They will work, but they are old technology. Like I said before my knoledge is limited but is a powerdyne a super charger? If so, that, AFR 185's, trickflow R intake, and a nice cam should get you 350-370 at the wheels (its a geuss but I think its conservative). Hope I helped a little.

WELCOME TO STANGNET!!!!!

Since the LTD is a heavy car, I would either go with a 331 stroker or a 351 Windsor. The extra stroke will provide more low speed torque. That will keep a heavy car from being mismatched to an engine that develops most its torque at higher RPM's.

Yea the LTD is a 5.0 originaly it was t/b injected but i swapped efi over from a mustang. Right now the car has a bebuilt motor from a 92 stang with iron gt40's cobra intake and an e303. The car is a fox chassis vehicle and only weighes about 100 pounds more then a vert. Mines also been gutted so its probably a little lighter. Thanks for the quick replies though.
