Right now I have the stock 16" rims that came on my car and I'm going to need new tires soon because mine are getting a little low on tread. I don't want to spend a lot of money right now because I'm saving the expensive tires for my new rims....whenever I get them. I'm looking for a good all-season tire for my stock rims that is affordable, but gives better performance than the crappy stockers that are on it right now. Tread life isn't a huge concern, I just need it to last AT LEAST a year with normal driving...and occasional tire spinning . I'd like to keep it at a $200 limit. Any suggestions?

Without a doubt, go to a used tire shop. You can get slightly used tires for like $30 each, mounted and balanced. You might have to go to two or three shops to get a full set of four tires. So just get two at one shop then go to the next one. Almost always, they will have similar ones.

IMHO, the stockers really aren't bad, but yeah, BFG KDW's, or KDWS if you need all season.

Those KDWs are a bajillion dollars for temporary tires. I got a set of Sumitomo 275s on all four of my old bullitt rims for winter, and they ran me around $400 for the tires and installation, at a discount tire shop. They did pretty good, for what they were. If you look around on Tirerack.com, they are there, but my shop happened to get them cheaper than that somehow.

I'm pretty sure his 16" rims are 8" wide, but I could be wrong. If they are, then get a set of 275/35/16s.

275 Might be a lil bit big for the rim ( possible )

35 Seems like a very small sidewall, id try to find at least a 40 for 16" rim

Toyo's are probably the best tires I have had. 255/45-16's if they make them would be the best option. 275's are too wide. Follow the manufacturer's specifications for safety reasons.

This tire size is probably the best for your current needs: a very common size therfore prices are good and most of those are very good tires
