Right now I have the stock 16" rims that came on my car and I'm going to need new tires soon because mine are getting a little low on tread. I don't want to spend a lot of money right now because I'm saving the expensive tires for my new rims....whenever I get them. I'm looking for a good all-season tire for my stock rims that is affordable, but gives better performance than the crappy stockers that are on it right now. Tread life isn't a huge concern, I just need it to last AT LEAST a year with normal driving...and occasional tire spinning :D . I'd like to keep it at a $200 limit. Any suggestions?

Those KDWs are a bajillion dollars for temporary tires. I got a set of Sumitomo 275s on all four of my old bullitt rims for winter, and they ran me around $400 for the tires and installation, at a discount tire shop. They did pretty good, for what they were. If you look around on Tirerack.com, they are there, but my shop happened to get them cheaper than that somehow.
