That's a sick pistol. I got the Springfield Armory 1911-A1...which is basically a stripper, government issue type like yours, except its parkerized and doesn't have the rosewood grips.

So when ya goin' Nazi hunting?

im big into the ww II guns. im gonna start buying my own this fall once i actually have money to spend on things beside my car.

the carbine is not on my list. just not one of my favorite guns, but it gets the job. but that colt .

first on my list is the springfield 03. but lately they are way too overpriced so i dont think ill be gettin that. locally there is a REAL nice mosen nagant (russian) scoped that ill probably pick up if it is still around by then.

my dream is to one day own a thompson

Yea. Im looking for a nice Mosin Nagant.
Im not sure if the car will allow it though. lol

One of my buddies has one and its pretty cool.

The M1 is alot more fun to shoot though, especially with the 30 round mag.

mmmmm. The 30 round mag on my M1 Carbine always puts a smile on my face. I love mine. yeah, m1 carbines may not the best gun in the world but it is a fun shooter.

I have a 40 rd. mag but its too heavy for its own good and doesn't load properly until its about halfway empty. But 30 is enough. lol

if you go to buy another 30 round mag watch out. I went to a gun show and this one booth sold nothing but mags. well, I pick the newest looking one the guy had for a m1 carbine 30rd. well, the catch on the mag was to short and won't load up far enough in the gun. but yes, 30 at a time is enough for that old gun.

I have a pretty nice collection of WW2 weapons. I bought them a while back when prices where softer on the full auto's. Since the ban the only way to go is with a C&R license as long as its not a tube gun.

Nice, do you know if its a colt/springfield/remington-rand? My dad actually gave me a 70-series colt combat commander as my first gun...it was also chamberesd in .38 super. I dont shoot it super often as ammo is a bit difficult to come by (until I start handloading ofcourse). But yea 1911's are sweet. And for those who are interested in Nagants...Mauser's are more fun...I know I have shot both and own a Mauser. For Mausers, I recommend you use the old surplus corrosive military ammo for the most kick, and value. I personally shoot 1937 WWII ammo from the czech republic (I bought like 800-900 rnds for really cheap) and w/ the steel butplate it will turn your shoulder blue within 10-15 rnds. Its sweet...everyone I take to shoot it gets a kick out of it.

MATTZ28, if you dont mind me asking how much did you get your Sturmgewehr for? And how much is it worth now(I know a whole bunch but a rough number would be nice)...? Also, can you stll find surplus ammo for it? Do you still shoot it? If I ever saw one I would prolly splooge myself. I hate cook county Illinois. I can't even get an assault rifle here unless its an M1 or an AR-type (because springfield and other companies lobbied to allow sale of their weapons, since there made in the state), but all other assault rifles are banned. Stupid gay county and there crooked politics and payoffs, etc...Well, I'm ranting on now...I'll let this one go.

i dont think he has the sturmgewehr. that is known as the stg/mp 43/44.
he listed G43, which is just the gewehr 43.

the stg is an assault rifle and the G43 is a semi auto rifle. you probably know that but the typing just got messed up.

and i agree on the splooging
