Got a speeding ticket...how much $$

I think in california its something like 10$ for every 1 mph you're caught over the limit. Don't know if they tax you or anything but you should expect something around $350+. I think anything over 100mph is considered exhibition of speed and thats where it gets really bad. My friend got cited doing 155mph here in the bay area in his red cobra. Cop didn't catch up until a few miles later. Lucky for him he wasn't on radar so the cop had no idea of the speed. He ended up with a 80mph ticket.

Nope, jus the ticket, Last one I got came on the mail like 2 weeks later with the price...it was 199 for a 60 in 45, I was just curious if anyone has every gotten one as high as mine.. Now I have to pull money from the KB venture..DAMN THE MAN

I would kill myself........I tach out at 150 last night and the needle was still going, thank GOD, the cop is in the mililtary like me and gave me the 90+ ticket, worst part I was 2 blocks from my house...

I dont believe there should be speed limits on highways...why not a reccomended speed and if people want to cruise at say 110? why not...who crashes on a highway anyways?

lol are you serious?

**** i listen to the radio every morning and get updates on accidents, most around here are on the freeway. might be different if you lived in BFE (Bum**** Egypt, AKA middle of nowhere)

a limit-less freeway only works in europe/germany, where less people per capita drive, and even less need to use it for long distances. the autobahn is pretty empty in most spots, and the drivers who use it use common sense. plus, its alot harder on the other side of the pond to even get your license, her it seems you can get it at wal-mart. americans are horrible drivers, and most that cause the accidents shouldnt be driving anyways.

Im all for a super-freeway that only certain licensed individuals can use. then again, i think you need to retake your license test every 5 years, and after 65 it becomes every 2 years. people under 18 with their provisional are limited to 80mph (most cars can have their speed limiters reduced pretty effortless nowadays, especially in OBDII), and a required 10 hours behind the wheel training to get a license but you are limited to surface streets, to use the freeway means you need to take special class that shows you how to drive on the freeway, and a 2 hour behind the wheel and another license test. IMO this lengthy process will surely weed out the ****ty drivers who cant see or follow the rules of the road and only got licensed cause they got lucky.

You aren't talking about the Autobahn in Germany and saying "empty" in the same sentence. That highway is becoming extremely overcrowded every day, most people can't even do the 120+ on it because it's too congested...The main difference is that cars over there don't have drink holders and crap everywhere so they can't sit and eat, drink, drive, talk on the cell, and put on makeup at the same time. They drive, and thats it...

If you paid $199 for a 15mph over the speed limit ticket then you will be looking at something possibly over $400 depending on if the rate increases based on higher speed. Good luck and hopefully everything works out for ya.

damn 450....thats a chunk out of my KB fund.......my radar didnt get him, it was
3:00 am empty free way, wanted to open her up for the first time since the engine swap. He came off the over pass as I was flying by, he said he heard my car.............I laughed and then sign the ticket.... Im very good at being a well behaved driver, but all of us do stupid s**t. We just have to own up to it and face the fact were not on a nascar track and deal with the actions. Im just glad i didnt loose control and injure someone else...(oh by the way im kicking my own azz thats alot of $$$$)

Yeah speeding tickets are definately a pita. The worst part about california is cops out here tend to be total dicks about modded cars. I got pulled over last week by 3 cops at once. I was turning left at a light and decided to open it up to about 60mph. Didn't realize the cops were at that same light a few cars back. Lucky for me the car is bone stock right now and I had a clean record so he let me go with a warning. If I had the new exhaust on I would have probably crapped my pants waiting for him to walk up to the car.
