Got back from the dyno late last night

I went down to Vancouver, WA yesterday to get a custom tune on a dyno for my car. I met up with Chung from Blue Oval Performance and we went to the dyno shop. Anyway, after 2 hours of tuning I ended up with 398.54 HP at the rear wheels (SAE corrected. it was 407 w/o correction) at 6,000 RPM at 6 psi of boost  That's about 465-470 at the engine so i'm really happy. I couldn't take it to redline as I was out of fuel at 6,000 rpm (the air/fuel ratio was starting to spike dangerously at 6,000) So it looks like I need a bigger fuel system to go further.

Man what a fun day though I got about 12 pulls in. Nothing like beating your car mercilessly for the sake of power!

Thanks again Chung :nice: I'll come back when I get a bigger fuel system :D

edit - oh yeah the combo. 97 cobra, novi 1000 (stock pulley), a/a intercooler, 3" universal maf, 42# injectors, bassani catted x, magnaflow catback, msd dis-4

heh,

thanks. I have been doing some research and maybe it's just my fuel rails are too small at this point as they are only good to about 450hp. so i might just need bigger lines as teh fuel pressure didn't drop at all, just the a/f ratio went haywire :) time for some steeda extruded 1/2 inch fuel rails.

What did you do for pump(s)? I will be tuning my similar setup when I get back.. '96 cobra w/ vortech. I used 42 injectors and a 255lph intank + 255lph inline pumps and ditched the FMU. I'm looking to get around 400rwhp also.. I dont think the rails are too restrictive, I've seen plenty of 500+ guys with stock rails.

Hmm not sure then.. only other thing that I can think of why you'd be running out of fuel would be the MAF but the UNIVER should be able to handle it.. I guess I'd just ask around on some of the SVT boards to see if anyone has suggestions.
