Got cops called on me...

Was at bust buy, putting three gift cards onto one, and wanting to get the money off them.

The store wouldn't give me the cash, and when I bought something with it and returned it, they gave me another gift card.

So my plan was to sell my gift car (value of 36.72 with receipts) to someone who was at the check out line for 35. They kicked me out of the store, so I continued to try to sell the gift card infront of the store. Manager came out yelling, "Cop on the way bastard" so I left, needless to say, I didn't get the cash from the gift card.

Yea I work for Best Buy its a pretty evil company, sorry man I would have been pissed too. I hate it one week they give me 40 hours then the next 28 hours it sucks when ur trying to buy a Mustang I want 40 everyweek.

I think you might of been able to get away with it, if you asked customers while they where leaving the store.... and if you where in the parking lot. I'm not attorney or anything, but I'm guessing they probably lease the store, the land doesn't belong to them, and parking is public property to some degree (as long as best buy doesn't own it.) It's kind of like those girlscouts who can not ask you before entering the store, but while leaving they bug the hell out of you. It's a bit extreme but if the mgr called me a bastard, I would have told him either give me my money back or I'm going to "PEACEFULLY" PROTEST outside the store with banners and signs. Get a couple of your buddies with nothing better to do and do it. Btw there ain't nothing like getting TAZERED by the cops while the dogs are snarling & barking 2ft away from your head. :SNSign:

Crook Buy is in so much trouble in Ohio they would probably cash it just to keep the local government from attacking them again. Gift cards in Ohio are now considered Cash and you can cash in your cards no matter what they tell you my wifes company had to change the policy to meet the Ohio law that was passed in Jan 06. I have noticed in my area they are really a dead store after them being busted for selling used products as new. Circuit City opened a huge store across the road and it is packed no matter what time I have been in it.

This is the same BEST BUY (the company) that tried taking my mother for a ride. She goes in there to buy a computer and selects one fromt he shelf. To make a long story short, there were additional items she wanted to have installed. The wanted to REPLACE the items that were in the case as opposed to installing what she wanted additionally and then wanted to chage her a $30 fee for the removal of the good components (that did not need removing) and installation of the other components (that she was buying from Best Buy). Read: $30 PER component! Two of these components were memory SIMMS and they were charging her $30 a piece! She happened to call me from her cell to ask a question about one of these components when I stumbled upon the ploy. Nicely, I asked my mother to hand the phone to nice lady behind the counter. Once I finished ripping her a new ass, I called the store and started into the manager. Not only are they intentionally underhanded, they can do not know their way around a computer case to save their rear ends.

I really don't like best buy... Took me 3 months to get a computer exchanged under the best buy extended warranty program.

My sister is a manager at one, And they SUCK, I can get discounts, but dont plan on the warranty to be honored, I paid the extra 50 or 60 dollars for the extended plan, worthless!!! I needed a part for work, And unfortunatly they were the only ones in town that had it. They wouldnt except payment thru my company credit card because it only had the name of the company on it.
I raised holy hell, They said same thing, We called the police you might want to leave....... I ban the store. ( Communists I say)

Alpine or 28th? I put the ban on Best Buy as well! I try and get everything I need from Circuit city but the one in Traverse closed down!!! Radio shack FTW!

I used to work there per Canon selling printers for a season... those guys are IDIOTS. Also they bind and torture poor young employees who don't sell the extended warranty

But I gotta say you probably shouldn't have tried hocking the cards in front of the store... but I've been strapped for cash before myself so good luck with it
