I believe that the bolt goes to 13 ft/lbs, but I would verify that first. Also put a dab of thread locker on that bolt too.

Dont use that gasket either... Just use silicone on it. The factory uses silicone, and that's what you should use.

Like I said.. Use Silicone... Gaskets will leak... Ford does NOT use a gasket from the factory, they use Silicone. Mine has 99K on it, and no leaks.. and the rear plate is not leaking yet. Use silicone.. not the gasket.

Not how it's done from the factory... But if you want to use the gasket, go for it. When it leaks... don't start a thread saying "Rear end leaks! What should I do??" lol

why are you being difficult lol. use the silicon, and ONLY the silicon. ditch the gasket... before you finish this sentance, go get the gasket and throw it out. ill wait.......... now that your back, Stang8URMPRT knows what he's talking about. and i have also done gears and axles before... the gaskets are garbage, use silicon. also one more question... why 31 spline? you could have save some moola if you went with 28 spline... and 28 spline moser's would last you to power levels FAR beyond what you have now.

ok.. when you run 8's on a street car the LAST thing to go in that rear would be 28 spline mosers... at least i persuaded you on the silicon in place of the gasket.

That's a good way of looking at it. Smart move.
