In the jeep. So anyone with some recomedations on body shops? It wasent our fault some lady ran a red light. I have some questions, dont we have the right to take it were ever we want for repairs? And dont they have to replace everything with factory jeep parts if thats what we want? Not some cheap stuff? I will have pics up here on monday evening. Thanks peace

You have the right to have it fixed by the shop of your choice. If the vehicle is less than 5 years old then yes you can have factory new parts used to replace damaged ones. I just got done with the whole insurance claim thing myself so it is all still fresh in my head. But each insurance company may be different I would check into it.
Well it's a99 jeep grand cherokee. So whatever parts they wanna put on it they can? I also thought we could have it towed here to our house but they had to tow it to there tow yard or we'd have to pay for the tow. peace

if they want to use aftermarket parts flat out refuse. they are thin and very cheap.
used OEM parts are fine IMO but sometimes its not cost effective. you can take it to a shop of your choice but you will be responsible for anything over the estimate you are given and approved by the insurance

Who cares what parts they use! It is a jeep, and i"m sure it will look like new anyways when you get it back. But sucks you even got in an accident. At least it wasn't your coupe.

Its just the fact, usually cheap parts fit well.... cheap and quaility sucks. Glad it wasent one of my coupes also. peace

Precision out in Beaverton is highly recommended. http://www.precisionfirst.com/
Ok so theres one. I was thinking leif's? alpine? cascade autobody? Theres one over here in hazel dell on 99 i think it might be alpine also? Anyone delt with or know anyone that has delt with any of these. It might not even be worth fixing ? The bags didnt blow but the passenger side door is hitting the fender. Took out the whole front end blew the radiator. I'm going today to get some pics.... i hope!? peace

Okay I talked to my friend today - he had the work done on his car. Mediocre prices, good service, first rate quality.
He said he picked them because he got a few separate recommendations and that they did exotics like Ferraris and Porsches. So they probably have to do a first-rate job.
They say you figure out the quality of the job as it ages. Well, it's been a year and I can't tell he had any work done.
Let us know how it goes
Ok so here's the deal. I ended up taking the jeep to leif's. I demanded all factory jeep parts. Farmers ins contacted me today and said it was a total! So now i'm going to hopefully not be argueing a settlement with them. Went today and looked at a 2000 jeep grand cherokee limited, and also a darango with the hemi. We want another jeep but the darango also caught our eye. peace

Well if i could get the pics to post here i'd show them, but the ins adjuster sent them to me using adobe? I got them to down load to my computer but cant get them to down load to photobucket? It took out both fenders, hood grill both lights bumper radiator, core support bumper reinforcement, all the shrounding under the hood over the radiator, both fog lights, and the passenger side door. peace

yup that will do it. the frame probly was bent also judging by the amount of damage. thats almost 99% total to an insureance company due to the liabilty of frame work
