What did you have to do to get the 95 rack on the front?

I could tell the difference with mine instantly.

I've been thinking about doing '03 LCAs in the front aswell. Any insight you can give me?

Also, I'm curious what solution you used for the 4 vertical bolts for the irs brackets.

the front lower control arms produce a lot of negative camber and I had bad rubbing problems at first with lowering springs installed (i've since switched to 03 cobra front springs and don't have any issues). I installed them at the same time as the 95 rack and 97 spindles so I'm not sure if they will work with the fox body rack since the inner tie rods are shorter. I'll be able to give you more insight this spring when i do some autoX'ing but for now I really haven't driven much on the street with the front setup to tell you real world feedback.

That's cool.
I was more curious about things to know for installation.
I'm sitting on some 03 springs, and I badly need a new rack.
I've been considering doing the sn95 rack, and noticed last year that the 03 LCA's would bolt in, but I wasn't sure what other issues it may present.

I take it your front track width matches the rear now? Let me know how your rear does with your quarters. I've always had issues with it rubbing a bit when it compresses all the way.

I don't see any exhaust in there!

I get alot of kicks from all the know-it-all mustang people who intially think you're an idiot for having a cobra catback on the car.

They shut up real quick when they look closer.

I have no rubbing issues whatsoever with the rear as it sits now... but that is in part due to my rear tires (225/45/17) on the cobra rims right now. Albeit, I've only taken it around the block a couple times thus far.

As for the front rack. From what I remember, the 94-95 GT rack is the one you want. I got a ford reman. rack and it bolted right in, no problems. All the power steering fittings fit fine and the exterior dimensions are the same except for the longer inner tie rods, which are a match for the longer 03 control arms. You cannot use stock fox tie rod ends though. They won't thread onto the new rack.

Nope, no exhaust yet. Mine was completely trashed to begin with so I just removed it and threw it out. I think I'm going to go with a mac prochamber and flowmaster dumps.

By the way, what springs are you running in the rear?

03 cobra coupe springs in the rear. Mine sits exactly where it should. I've got some 03 vert springs I was planning on putting in there.

Sounds like I need to get those LCA's and a rack already!

I put an '03 IRS in my '86 coupe because it was a 4 banger and I needed to ditch the 7.5, and I got a good deal on it. It didn't have brakes on it & I had some Wilwoods that were given to me, so I decided to put them to good use. I made brackets at work, I had to relocate the caliper to the front because it was too big to fit in the stock location. The swap wasn't difficult, I did it in my garage by myself in an afternoon. Obviously my car isn't running yet, so I can't say as to how it rides. For exhaust I have the stocker w/SLP loudmouths welded in. I polished the last few inches for that "LX" look, but I'm not too fond of the flared tips. I may cut them off and find some junk LX tails I can cut up and weld the ends on, then grind the welds down and polish it back out.

You probably wont feel a huge difference in handling, but it will ride a lot nicer.

On the contrary. If you're coming off a stock 4 link, you notice a massive increase in handling. Especially considering most of the stock rears are beat into the ground and sloppy as hell.

So tell me bstrd86 & simplyj. For the vertical bolts that hold the bracket in the rear. What did you guys do? On my first install I went all the way into the rear floorpan area. I did the install on my 85 now. I'm not driving the car, so for now I only have 1 horizontal bolt in each to roll it around with. This time I'm debating cutting a window in the rear framerail and using some short bolts and nuts.
So I'm curious what you guys did, if you had any better methods.
