I live in the NY tri-state area, and let me tell you ...the new GT's are EVERYWHERE!

I have test driven a GT , quite a few actually, ..(was purchasing a loaded convertible)...... Stock for stock, the GT does not pull like the MACH 1, not even close!

Im sorry to hear that yiou had a slush box in your mach......that was a BIG difference in that car, about 15 ponies on the dyno to be exact

good luck with your GT, becareful driving, thats all that matters

Very Nice Tom281!! Nice history as well.. That Mach1 had to hurt to let go... Look at it! you kept it perfect man! Mind me asking how much it sold for roughly? Or did you trade it in?

The Color on your 05GT is really well selected..

Welcome to the other side of the Rainbow Tom281.. See how green the grass is around here? I thought it was a lie, but it really is green!

No offence to the mach 1 owners but your mach is pretty much the same car chasis wise as my 93. All the same rattles that are in my 93 were there with the car with only 5 miles on it. The 05 is such a different car its not even a comparison. There is no way in hell I would sell myself short by downgrading from an 05 to a mach 1

20% on the back and quarter windows, 35& on the fronts. 35% is what's legal here in Indiana.

Thanks,

Thanks for the kind words. I've been watching this site and in particular this S197 forum for awhile, just in anticipation of getting the car and talking to new people about it that have something in common. FYI: I was asking $23500 for the Mach, but ended up trading it in for $22000. I got my '06 at sticker with the window tint thrown in, with the following options:

-premium model (charcoal leather)
-shaker 500
-Interior Upgrade
-5 speed manual
-side airbags
-bullets

These options are EXACTLY what I wanted! Had I ordered one, the only thing I would have changed is the spoiler. I would have ordered it without it, because I plan on having either the Roush or Cervini spoiler installed asap. Got to get that done, because only then can I get my stripes! Now gotta decide........silver stripes or white? Maybe even black......... what do you think??

Good choice for spoiler. Thats one of the first things I'm gonna do. (Besides tint but you got that covered already lol).

Oh and yeah The Legend duck tail uses stock holes. I just got an email back from them. Just varification for everyone.

I think they're both awesome cars, both have their strong points over the other. I wouldn't say either would be an upgrade from the other. But everyone's got their own opinion, they're entitled to it, even if it is wrong. I will say even though I love the sound of our '05 GT, you can't beat the 4V sound, though with BBR cams on the 3v, that's a different story.

Actually Tom i was debating about the stripes too. I think white would look sharp. I kind of like silver on the blue also. how wide would you go for the stripes? I dont want them to look to over done. They should compliment the car not take it over . What do you think?

There is a post over in the tech forum that has a white car, with red stripes that are 13" wide, 2" apart. Some may think those are too wide, but not me. I will probably go with those specs, or something very similar. In the same thread (at the beginning) is a sonic blue GT with silver stripes, painted the same as the bullets. Tough choices for us with blue cars.......

Everytime I log on here, I see that faux '05 Cobra that's blue with white, and man it looks nice.........plus the dealer that I purchased my car from had an sonic V6 with white, and it looks great. My biggest hangup on deciding is my windows; since they're tinted and they tie into the tires well, I just wonder if silver, or even black stripes would be better. Gotta get them painted on though, no stickers. I want mine to go all the way down the front splitter and all the way down the rear facia; so I think paint is the only choice.

No doubt- I had a Borla kit on my Mach, and even my wife LOVED it!! It was awesome. By comparison, I've got an off-road X pipe with a Dynomax kit on my 5.0, and we're both unhappy with it (wife says it sounds like a tractor!). Me, just too much droning.

No wait time; it was on the dealer's lot for 2 weeks, along with a new Tungsten Grey GT. Bought it at sticker price, no markup no discount, with window tint thrown in and of course a full tank of gas.

The dealer I bought from is in Indianapolis. They currently have two or three new GT's and still a couple of '05 GTs left too.

Thanks.
