So I ordred my Nitto drag radials, they will be here and on the car this coming Wendsday. My question, I had these same tires but bigger on my Cobra and used them at the track. Is there anything different that I should do when launching a fox body on drags. Ill be at the track on friday for the first time with this car and want to make sure it all goes right. There has to be some thing different between launching a IRS car and a solid axle car on drags, dump the clutch? what RPM? stuff like that, help would br great.:SNSign:

Imo a fox is much easier to launch than the irs cars. My cousin had an 01 and then an 03 cobra and I hated launching them on the track. It was always a fine line between bogging and wheel hop. I have the Nittos on my car. I wanted the mileage and wet traction but they suck ass on the track. I have to bring mine out soft for it to bite.

Launch it around 3000-3500 and slip the clutch. My friend was cutting 1.8 60's on 17" Nittos like this with his 13.0 car. I got in and went 1.9s in it (ran better times than him still :D) but with more passes could have dropped it.

My 01 was hard to launch but once I worked at it it launched nice and I never had a problem getting the Nittos to hook at the track, I figured if I could get the Nittos to hook on the cobra then this car should be alot easier.
