Well It finaly came...I was eating breakfast on my last day off before going back to work. My cell rang and it was the Dealer calling me to give me the good news. They said give them 3 hours to get it washed and ready.

I live about 20 miles away and drove my 2000 Ford Taurus to the dealership.
The Taurus was to be traded in and the Salesman took it out for a drive to evaluate it and I jumped into my new mustang.

Contrary to the Fears I got from reading how people were suspecting the Dealers were allowing people to test drive Mustangs that were ordered...Mine had 4.9 miles on the odometer. which is just about right for a new car.

everything ran fine and sounded good, and there were no poping sounds comming from the front end, no skipping Cds in the stereo, no rattles or squeeks. i havent put any gas in yet as I got a full tank of gas from the dealer.

The only problem was getting My PIN number from the Ford X plan web site and after throwing a fit I got lucky and called a carpooler from my job who remembered the customer number code that let us in to register.

The rest was Butter....I even held my temper as the contract writer gave me the extra waranty and other add ons spiel.

Final price. $28,921.00 Out the door for a Priemium GT with Automatic and all the options. ( except for the Shaker 1000 )

It is the first car I have ever ordered ( 13 weeks to delivery )
It is the first car I have ever Garaged.
It is the first car I ever got exactly what I wanted.
It is the most expensive car I ever Bought.
It was the least traumatic purchase..once it arrived.

And it is the most beautifull Kickass Ride in town. I am going to be verry tired tomorrow as I dont think I am going to get any sleep.

People have stopped and drooled over it when I stopped for Dinner . and at a store. one guy who owns a Vette, couldn't stop saying how cool it looked.

I keep bouncing between feeling giddy with Joy and feeling like I just stole something. wierd.

these forums have been a source of information and support while I was
"clean and unscheduled"

But I had to filter alot of bad vibes out with all the fretting and negative gosip
there was. alot which was due to a poor feedback from Ford. I wish they had a better system to help track the progress of our orders. anyway I have got to get some sleep.

Next week...Road Trip!!!!

it was ordered Jan 18th..and build week
was April 4-8
delivered April 27th.

Hang in there. I waited 13 weeks!!!

I haven't been waiting long compared to most people so it isn't too bad. I didn't really think about it much before the car was built, but since it was built I have been going crazy wishing it was here already, lol.

CONGRATS, tsrek!!! You and I have had about the same wait time (and same amount of BS/frustration). I arrived at work today with this email from my dealership:

It looks like your mustang has been produced and has an estimated delivery
date of May 4th. Any number of things can delay/accelerate transit times.

Can't wait to see pics of your new girlie!!

Mine was put on railcar for shipment the 25th. I am so bug-eyed, I can't take it any longer. I'm thinking of pitching a tent at the dealership, but I would have to purchase some stakes that I could drive into the concrete.
