Got my Mach 1 chin spoiler today.

Well, I got my chin spoiler today, but they didn't send me the push pins to attach it. Can you buy these at the local auto parts stores? Autozone, NAPA, O'Reilly's?

Regular screws with a washer works fine, or you can go down to Ford and buy them.

Get the push pins and do it right, I think it takes 14. I dought you can get
them from Autozone, got mine from Dallas Mustang.

No, you can get them from your local hardware store.... i went down to ACE and they had them. After i got my car repainted though i used screws with a washer and they held so much better. With the push things they will kind of wiggle their way out if you drive over alot of rough terain after awhile. Mine started to wiggle loose after about 6 months and everyonce in awhile i'd have to push them back up.

P.S. the push pins at ace were like .03 cents a piece

Nice. Let us know if you need help with installation questions. Also got mine from the local autoparts store, pep boys to be exact and were labeled "Ford". I bought a few packages as they come in qty of 3 per package. It helps keep it up snug the more mount points you use. Don't forget to deburr the holes as you go along so that it fit up there with no gaps. Good luck.

Here is a good piece of advice, as I have had two of them now. The first one I got I installed as per the instructions and set in back about a half inch or so from the lip of the front bumper and the ends butted up evenly with the fenderwell. My car wasn't lowered at the time, but I was always running into those stupid concrete parking things and dragging on speed bumps etc. Well, I bought a new front bumper and mach 1 spoiler after someone bumped into mine and this time we put the spoiler even with the front bumper. This left about a 1/4 inch space between the back two ends of the spoiler and the fenderwell but eventhough my car is now lowered 1.5 inches it doesn't drag anymore and I am much more pleased. You wouldn't think that little amount of distance would matter much, but it does. Also, the first one was a CDC and the second oem ford (maybe that matters too?) Just my 2 cents.

Well of course it's not Tim2002GT's, but this will give you an idea on what it looks like on an SN 95 and installed a not flush to the front bumper.... And please share the pics when your done.

Use the push pins, not screws and washers. They are just 1/4" pins.


Reason to use those instead of screwing it on. You pull into parking spot and hit one of those parking barrier curb peices and tear your chin spoiler off. With the push pins, it will just pull the pins out of the holes. With screws and washers, it will rip out of the bumper, possibly taking peices with it.


I used the OEM push-pins from Ford. Installed my chin 3 years ago...it's still nice and tight!

Thanks for all the replies. I will definately post pics as soon as I get it put on. You will have to forgive the quality as the only camera I have access to right now is the camera on my phone.

Oh yeah, when they shipped it to me they folded it in on the ends. I have heard that you can lay it out overnight and it will straighten out. Anyone else get theirs shipped this way?

Yup, mine came that way.

If it was summer, you could just lay it on the driveway for an hour or two in the hot sun and it would straighten.

I got mine in the winter so i used a hairdryer to heat it up and help straighten it out
