Finally got rid of the stock h-pipe and got a catted x-pipe put on today!!
DAM,,what a difference in performance My Thumper/T-Moss combo finally came to life Cant wait to get to the track next month to see the results!! Taking off in first gear was crazy,,6000 rpm came up so fast,if I wasnt watching the tach I would have bounced off the rev limiter!! Hard to believe the difference an x made!!

That stock pipe can really choke out a motor.

What, what, WHAT??? What was that whole thread about that you posted about crappy performance from your mods? lol For some reason, I'd thought I remembered you posting up numbers. Oh well... At least now you sound as if you're much happier with it. That's a GOOD thing.

It was this one:

http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=600345&highlight=thumper

It was all the talk about getting it on the dyno to isolate your problem that had me thinking there were numbers there.

Daggar I think this mod ironed out alot of my problems..Like I said earlier,I think the factory cats were clogging because its that much of a difference in power Even just revving it in park, before it would just make noise, now it barks out a mean growl!!

Good to hear! I went and had my Bassani x pipe installed this morning and though it didn't make as much of a difference in sound as I thought it might, the motor certainly acts allot different.

Yeah me too.I was expecting more of a sound difference..Its quieter until you give it gas then it makes noise..Its not too different from an H though.Did you get cats?

Yeah... I got the one with cats. I never know if I'm going to have to move to a location that has smog inspections. I kept my old crappy H-pipe in case I go somewhere that want's to split hairs about having all 4 cats. I can definitely feel a sigh of relief from the engine though. I will try to get on the dyno this week and see how significant the gain is. I'm not expecting miracles though. Still have stock headers installed.

I'm hoping so. I'd like to see somewhere between 15 and 30 HP freed up by the pipe. It may be my imagination, but I could swear that I hear more whine from the KB when I'm into the throttle now.

Yeah... it will be just a matter of how restrictive my OEM H-pipe was in the combo. I'm counting on some sort of improvement now, not having to force everything through those 19 year old converters.
