Got my Sniper Tuning Flasher

Well I finally got it yesterday. The software is pretty sweet. I cant wait to start tuning with it. I would have started yesterday but mine for some reason is not wanting to read the stock tune from my computer it gets stuck. there is an update to go to version 15 that i need to download and try out when i get off work.

If not I gave them a call already and let them know the situation and they told me to send it into them and they will send me out a new interface the same day. They have excellent customer service.

The thing i like is for nitrous i click nitrous then click wet kit and the size shot i want and then it automatically retards timing. I am excited to get this going cause I want to make a nitrous tune and then an all motor tune.

Much better than that diablo i have.

i have the sniper software as well. just got mine in too. im actually having trouble out of mine too. they do have great customer service, and i have a feeling the problem im having is not with the product itself but my car. either way they are helping me with it. mine will read the ecm just fine but wont flash a new program too it. the software is super easy to use and make changes with. i plan to buy a wideband soon before i make my nitrous tune. although it should be able to make a safe tune, i want to be absolutely certain its not lean before i spray it.

do you have version 12 or 13 because i read on there message board that they are having writing problems with those and you can download the version 15 update. I just downloaded version 15 to my interface. I am at work right now so when i get home i will try it out. but i think its going to work now. I got my fingers crossed. I cant wait to see this puppy in action.

I am going to go tune crazy when i get this thing working lol. Ill have an all motor tune a nitrous tune. Maybe for the hell of it ill buy some unleaded race fuel and make a tune for that. And who knows maybe ill make a tune for my moms explorer and see if we cant get that thing to chirp tires shifting gears lol.

i have v14, i was told i shouldnt need the update, but i plan to d/l it anyway to be on the safe side. ill get it figured out sooner or later. i will be doing an all motor tune and a nitrous tune as well. also plan to tune my dads 03 mach 1 but its all stock so i dont look for anything impressive there lol. just gonna ditch is traction control and the speed limiter mostly. they claim 10-15rwhp gains on stock mach's, ill be suprised to see 10rwhp but we'll see how it goes.

well i tried out the v15 update now and it still does the same thing. what happens is my interface is reading my stock tune fine the lights are flashing single file and then after they cycle through about 3 times it will get stuck on the 3rd light and wont go any farther and it will stay that way for 10 minutes is the longest i have left it before pulling it out.

Ill just have to send it on back to them after christmas so i can get a new interface cause i want to start making tunes.

that sucks man, i actually got mine to work today so apparently the problem with mine was just me lol. i got a base tune flashed onto it and im gonna wait to fine tune from there until i make my trip for christmas.

make sure when you hit the left button that when you see the 3 and 4 lights blink you QUICKLY turn the key forward , or it can time out on you if you wait too long ......

yea i did that. It starts reading the stock tune just fine and then all of a sudden it just freezes up and the first 3 lights stay lit along with the 7th one being red. It will stay like that forever.

haha yea the timing out problem is what i was having. i was so scared to mess up that i would read a direction and then do it, then read the next, and do that one, and so on. it was taking me to long to do all that. they should put in the directions that u need to turn the key quickly lol.

Hate to see that you guys are having problems with the Sniper program. I guess that is why many tend to stick with the proven instead of attempting to buy something that not many have. Hope they get the problem fixed quickly

well just so its absolutely clear, my problem with the sniper was me, not the product, the product is great. if u look around on their forum not many people have problems with it, and when they do they are handled very quickly. i highly recommend this product and 2002blgt as he is the dealer that i bought mine from. very quick customer service and very helpful with anything u need. i emailed him my tune and he had me a custom tune done and emailed back to me within a few hours, just havent had a chance to try it out yet. i would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for something like this, and highly recommend willie (2002blgt) as a dealer of the product.

is this a software application for a laptop, or an actuall hand held flasher?

yea their customer service is top notch. They told me just send in my interface and the day they get it they will send me the new one back out. I just have not done it yet im going to wait till after christmas to send mine in.

its for a laptop. you install the software on that download your stock tune to the flasher device. Then create the tune on the laptop send it back to the flasher in one of the 5 slots and then download from the flasher to the car ecm

Let me know if I can make any more changes to better that tune I sent you , I think you will be very pleased with it and it should idle good now as well .....let me know if it doesnt and I will modify it a little more ......

got mine a few months ago and did everything right on down time at work. it was that easy and it all worked out great. I have to admit that I read the directions 10 times before doing the flashing just to be sure I knew what I would be doing with turning the key on and off and pressing buttons, and knowing what all the lights meant.

its for a laptop. you install the software on that download your stock tune to the flasher device. Then create the tune on the laptop send it back to the flasher in one of the 5 slots and then download from the flasher to the car ecm

you can also do it on a pc if you don't have a laptop, just so you know. I was thinking a laptop was needed as well, cause I was thinking it was the same thing as a power commander on a bike, but it is not.

the interface is basically just a memory card that saves your stock map, then you download it to the computer and make a new map and bring it back out to your car, for those that don't know what to expect...

When I got mine I had to send it back because it wouldnt write the tune. It was worth the wait... I noticed a big difference over the stock tune using the 93 octane tune from my Sniper Tuner.

so far i am loving mine. i used it to tune my dads mach 1 and he was thrilled with the difference. he says its a whole different car now, we used the sniper 93 octane tune then added 6 degrees timing to that, the car really moves out nicely now. im still waiting on my wideband to come in so i can dial my car in

So you can tune as many cars as you want with this software?

Darn SCT limites us to 1 computer code....and right now they are all on vacation until the 2nd! So I cant transfer mine to my new computer code yet....and I have a feeling there will be some rediculous fee involved.
