Equal length shorties for my Stang. They need to be sandblasted really bad, but they were only $35. Not too bad if you ask me. I'll just have the auto shop at school sandblast them for me.

Yeah, I know spark plugs will be a pain in the @$$, but I really don't care that much. I'll just make someone else do them!

Just painted. A high-temp black is all I think I'll do. I would coat them, but as you can tell by the price, I am kind of on a budget.

enjoy the install, better have new motor ounts or a shim present, a sledgehammer and take loosen up your a/c compressor and braket to make room to put them in
spark plugs are no problem, header bolts are

They look like they're solid flange style so aside from just reaching the bolts, they shouldn't be too bad i wouldn't think.

If i ever ditch the full lengths i'm getting some stainless ceramic coated EQ's. They look so cool all knotted up like they are. Keep a close eye on your plug wire boots though...they have a tendancy to get hotter than typical headers since they're all wadded up in one place. It wouldn't hurt to buy some plug wire head wraps if you get the cash.

no i mean you have to get aftermarket header bolts, the stockers hex is to wide. i found some smaller ones at the zone for 8.00 had to get two packs for the 16.
just do a quick search on equal length installs..

oh yes a couple days later i noticed a ticking sound coming out the exhaust. i was like wtf. no leaks, hmm car was reving okay and it was only ticking at anything under 1500rpms.....one of my wires were laying on the tubes and cracked so i was getting blue spark all over that wire and it was grounding on the head(there was my tick) thankfully i have a new set waiting to be installed once everything is finalized and tested...i figured out the problem(tick) in less than 5mins but yeah watch out for that.

Yeah, I'm pulling all the smog crap out of it. With 4 cats on it, i can pass emissions better than a 4 cyl. And I found out that they're 3" headers, so I'mma have to get some collector/reducers and snap those puppies on. It'd be a 3" to 2 1/4" reducer right?
Oh yeah, and I have no A/C, so...

oh yea i forgot you can't use the stock header bolts to bolt them to the heads. I got those autozone ones too because i didn't have a complete set of the stainless 12 point ones.

Yeah I'll get a weekend soon. They do look like crap, but I don't really care. My engine really isn't showy, and I don't plan on it being like that anytime. My car looks good underneath, who cares what the engine really looks like?

What kinda bolts am I going to need to put these on the heads?

It could be the bad pic but the collector flange looks flat... like it needs a gasket. I dont see a "ball" on that flange.

You can use the header bolts they have at the parts store, you'll have to buy two packs because they only comes with 12 bolts... for a 350.

go to autonzone if you have it
and goto the aftermarket performance section(thats what i call it) they have all sorts of stuff for 302 and 350's and a coupld of ricer parts(fart cannons and intakes) get two packs of these bolts they are gold and really good grade. there like 6 or 8.00 a pack. also they have mr.gasket 302 header gaskets that i recommend over the felpro set for the same price as the felpro's like 12.50 or something. plus they are larger/thicker gasket to help with the larger prots and flange difference. i dont see gasket failure to be a problem with mine, and it looks like we have the same headers except my falnge is not flat and mine were not 3".
like mentioned before, spark plugs were not a problem i didn't even pull my off since they were never really in the way(be careful though). you need new bolts for sure, and i am pretty sure if you are on stock motor mounts the drivers side header is going to hit the frame, and may hit the steering shaft thing(where it connects like a drive shaft yolk) i forget what it called,lol......oh yeah i forgot you cant use the dipstick mount either cause the mount wont fit with the new header tube size.....and the things that you use to hoist a motor out(i cant remebr the name either) wont work either, the new tubes are to large, i was going to grind mine out but when motor removal comes there are other ways to do it.......

but overall its not too bad one day install a weekend tops..harder than what i expected being such a simple mod, but it also was my first time and i had to learn the hard away about the header bolts not fitting, and for some reason fitments is never fun for me..

As for bolts, go to your local hardware store and pick up some grade 8 allen head bolts and you'll never have to deal with tight wrench work again. Then you have the option of using the allen key or an allen socket. What i did for the extra tight spots was take an old allen and cut it short at the end that goes into the bolt, so that it can sqeeze into tighter spots...works like a dream.

Ooh, sounds like fun. Did you use jacks or a lift or anything? Because I'm at college, and unless they let me use a lift for a while, there's no real way to get my car off the ground.

Sandblast, and high temp powercoat them. Do the plugs while they are off. You only have to do plugs every 100K, so I doubt you'll ever do them again.
