For those of you who read this thread, I finally got the baseline dyno done so I can have an accurate idea of what the intake does for me.

The mods:
K&N
Bassani offroad X-pipe
Bassani quiet thunder catback
ASP pullies
Accesories bypassed
113K miles on a motor that's never had the valve covers removed

The numbers:
232.14 hp @ 4600
304.52 tq @ 3500
(RPM's estimated from graph)

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the results. My A/F was all over the place but generally too rich instead of lean. We'll see what the new fuel system parts do for it.

The basics:
95 GTS, 5.0L, T5, SAE corrected numbers from a Dynojet

Now we'll just have to see how Striped5.0 did with his dyno runs today...

Cool. Aren't you putting on a Roush intake? What about heads/cam?

This was the baseline so that I know exactly what the intake (and the stuff it came with: injectors, TB, etc) adds on a relatively stock motor. After the intake install and subsequent dyno run, I'll be dropping on a set of AFR 185s and a custom ground bumpstick followed by yet another dyno pull.

Those are really high numbers for an essentially stock car.

I thought the same thing (I went in expecting 215 but actually guessed exactly 232 right before the run), but I've always thought my car was a bit of a factory freak. I always thought it was due to my weight (around 3050#). Had the other cars not run right about where they should, I'd be sceptical of the dyno operator.

Let me be the first to say thanks for doing this! It's always helpfull when people dyno between different modifications so everyone can get more accurate and realistic ideas of what to expect. Those numbers are good, but about what I'd expect from a motor in good shape with the accessories bypassed.

yeah those numbers seem high. But only weighing 3050 I can wee why. Have you done any weight reduction?

It's funny you say that because I mentioned today that I wasn't expecting too much because it has 113K miles on it. One of the other guys there reminded me that with the 5.0L motors, the engines that go 250K+ between rebuilds, 113K is almost broke in. ;)

Ummm, I'd have to say yes. I don't know of any stock 95 GT's weighing that much ;).

Tubular K member and A-arms
coilovers front and rear
race LCA's (aluminum rod with heims on either end)
no quads
no dogbone
no cats
no smog
'glass hood
V6 interior
no power anything (except steering)
gutted trunk
and a bunch of other cheet I'm forgetting about.

I haven't weighed it recently, but it was 3260# stock. I'm confident that I've dropped 150-200 pounds, but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong. Even figuring conservatively, there's no way I'm over 3150. My best guess is 3050# - 3100#.

Exactly, my car ran 9.0 @ 78mph in the 1/8th mile with 186K miles on her with very similar modifications to what you have. God only knows how much it weighs too, approx. 3600lbs? I should have dynoed it then, but I didn't have the money. :(

But why would you want to? It's not like you're ever going to run that configuration on the street or track. What's the point of wasting a dyno run? Unless of course you've got A, money to burn, or B, your own dyno.

You're right, but I think it was said as a compliment to your high dyno numbers.
