got the car dynoed today...

made about 225 HP and 270ish/ft of TQ on a mustang dyno on my best run

AFR was good and this run was at around 10degress base timing. we tried it at 15 and it didnt like it ran worse.

my mods are
rebuild 302 with thumper e7s, tmoss ported lower with a port matched upper
B-cam advanced 4 degrees, CAI, pullies, 70 MM TB, 73 MM MAF, holley 190lph with adjustable regulator, bbk headers and exhaust

i was hoping for something around 240-250

seems a little low but the car is running good cant think of what it may be, i know there are people getting 250+ with thumper and tmoss stuff, i have pretty much all the bolt ons and it just doesnt seemt to make the numbers. hmmm

i guess i was right when i felt the engine didnt really pull hard. also a stock mustang makes more torque that i did.
any ideas?

You answered your own question in your post. It is low because it was on a mustang dyno. That would be roughly 250 rwhp on a dynojet.

Ditto -- A buddy of mine works for SCT he says there dyno always would read lower than the dyno jets..... Also, keep in mind, a stock mustangs 300 ft/tq is probably only around 220-230 RW, your car is probably putting a decent amount over 300 foot lbs of tq at the motor, if it put 270 at the tire. Not bad numbers. also, dont get into the hype of dyno numbers... The numbers will always vary from dyno to dyno, even with the same car, on the same kind of dynomometer(SP?) They are really only good for tuning to see a deference, and to judge progress, and such... We built my buddies old GT, it put down 276 rwhp, but ran consistent [email protected] on street tires... Suspension and setup go a LONG way...

My car put down 220rwhp and 285rwtq stock with the exception of a full exhaust on a dynojet.

hmmm well my friend had his dynoed there. he has ported Pheads, ported explorer intake, cam( similar specs to B-cam) and about the same bolt ons and he made 260ish and 280 tq.

i wouldnt figure my combo isnt too far off, at least not 30-40 horse.

car feels good and feels better than the stock engine i am just like wow wtf.

His motor will make more power than yours by a good amount. My dad had a GT40P motor with basically the same stuff as mine, and made probably 25-30 rwhp if dynoed under the same conditions. Mine made 272 on a cooler day, his made 292 on a hott and humid day, same dyno.

dynojet is usually plus ten percent..not always but on avg.

That would probably be a 240/280 on a mustang dyno, judging by the 10 percent rule (but using the 10% of the Mustang dyno number, not taking 10% off my numbers)?

dynojet numbers usually found by multiplying base mustang dyno number by 1.1. Dynocom numbers are multiplied by 1.02 to aquire dynojet numbers....IIRC.

Thats what I did wit mine, figured 240 x 1.1 would be 264 (mine was 265), and the tq would be 280 x 1.1 or 308 (mine was 308). Given that foxfans numbers would be about 225 x 1.1 or 248 and 270 x 1.1 or 297. Not bad numbers at all, but Id check the timing thing, my E7s liked 18 degrees, I would think you could see at least 14-15 and still make power?

so which dyno is reading what my car would really have??? the dynojet or the mustang?

like is the mustang dyno reading 10% lower than what my actual REAL HP/TQ are? or would the dynojet read 10% higher than my actual numbers etc

They are both accurate figures. The mustang dyno shows what your car would make under load to roughly simulate real world road conditions. A dynojet will show actual power with the only load being the drivetrain loss.

Neither means anything other than giving you a number. The way a car performs is based off a lot of things. I have seen 225 rwhp on a Dynojet run 12.77 in a full weight notchback (stock motored car). I have been in a 292 rwhp car running 7.48 in the 1/8th (its set up for the 1/4, so maybe 11.6-11.7?). Its a way to compare with others, but other numbers are better ideas of true use of power!
