Hi guys. I now received my 20" Shelby Razor wheels (Thanks Summit Racing!). Now I need to add rubber.

As ironic as it seems for somone who just bought 20" wheels, I want:

1. a bit of a "cushion", I want a compromise between ride, and looks (no ultra-aggressive, ultra-low tires.

2. I want to use the same size at all 4 corners (no stagger).

What do you think about 255/35/20, or 245/45/20? Yeah, they're a little narrow (for 9" wide rims), but they may be a good compromise for ride/performance.

I admit, I'm not a tire expert. Any help/advice is appreciated.

The 245/45/20 would be much better IMO , not changing very much the ride comfort . I assure you , 1,5 inch more of sidewall is day/night difference .

anyway , I think they are a bit narrow for the 20" . How much is wide your rim ?

i personally would go with a 275 tire for a 9" wheel. tha way it does not look like too small of a tire on the wheel. 275s will fit front and rear.

check out a saleen with the stock 20s. they have a taller tire that helps cushion the ride. i forget the exact size, but you can go to the saleen website for specifics.

I wouldn't use either one of those sizes. If you can find a 275/35/20 that would be 27.57" tall and will give you a tad more sidewall. Don't know if they make them. Your speedo would be off and should be re-programmed for the new size. No matter how you look at it, the 20's are a horrible ride, but great for cornering.

The stock Saleen tire is a 275/35/20 with optional 275/40/20 on the rear with a 20x10 inch wheel. There are a lot of 275/35/20s so finding one you like should be easy. I would go with that size on the 20x9 rim. 245 will be way to small, isnt the stock rim 7.5? and the use a 235 tire.

thanks guys

I didn't think about the 275/35/20 combo. I checked out the Saleen site. I really like the look of the 275/40/20's on the rear.

If a 275/35/20 would fit on a 9" wide wheel, can I also assume that a 275/40/20 would fit on a 20x9" wheel as well, being that the width "275" is the same?

thanks.

i suggest NOT getting a 245/255 wheel on a 9" wide rim. I have a 255 tire on an 18x9" deep dish bullit on my 06. You cant lay the wheel on its side...without scratching the lip. I wish I had gotten a 275 wide tire. I couldnt pass up the deal on the G Force IIs ($415 shipped for 4) though.
