Got the T-tops off the '84 today...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Why? :(

It went to fund a paint job on the coupe.

It was like having 2 girlfriends. I had to consolidate my hoes into one super awesome mega hotness ho. You know how many guys wish they could do that? :rlaugh:

It sucks but really it was wasting away. 3 years and i only put 11k on it. I was afraid to drive it cause i didn't wanna break it or wreck it or rack up miles on it. It went to a good home i think.

Anyways we're derailing hardcore so back to your regularly scheduled T top program :D

T-Tops FTMFW!!

Do you have a garage for this car? I don't care how fresh the t-top seals are, these cars will LEAK sooner or later. That, and if you have a garage for it, you'll find yourself just leaving the t-tops off and only driving it on nice days, haha.

Thanks! Working on clearing out some garage space now, it's under a car port for a week or two until then.

I love your car :nice: It's awesome being able to cruise in the nice weather with the T-Tops off.

Yeah I love it! You should have seen me the other night when it was 40 degrees out, in a coat scarf, gloves and knit hat cruising with the t-tops off haha.

WOW...your car looks awesome.....I love it....:nice:

Thanks dude!

Car looks good, but the plate on the dash is killing me!

It's killing me too, but I'll be one cold, stiff, dead mother ****er before I drill into that freshly painted front bumper. :D

I am too... So nice.

Agreed and agreed.

The tint will definitely help. Centercaps, and dd rears and it will look bad Larry. I would also lose the tailpipes as I'm not a fan of the look but some people can't put up with the sound of dumps.

Oh yea, and obviously for the weekend a set of Bogarts or something, some 28" slicks and a 200 shot :D

Thanks Josh, the exhaust system is getting completely redone on this car. Right now I'm either going with flowmaster 10 series dumped (because my neighbors call the cops on me for nothing, so now I'll give them a reason to do so), mac pro dumps, or spintech pro streets dumped. Working on them bogarts and spray too. :D Haha!

Car is very nice ... the hood dont match up to the grill area to well..can it be adjusted?

Thanks! Some body panels need to be adjusted, having that done when it gets detailed.

This thread helped in my decision to take my car for a ride around the block...

Holy hell I forgot how insanely stiff the clutch is, and how short and notchy the shifter throws were. Not too mention how high I set the clutch to release and grab, and how quick the RPMs climb if/when you roll into the throttle.

:D

I am so proud to have inspired your two tone beast to roar back to life, even if it was just around the block. There's nothing like driving these cars after being in nothing but a comfortable DD for a few weeks.

Well i sold my Merkur today and the guy who got it had an '82 t top coupe in his garage, completely stock and unmolested (although thoroughly wore the hell out). It was a sight to see, even being in rough shape. It was straight as an arrow though and completely rust free.

BUY IT!! :D BTW, you'll be seeing my 99 around Ohio this summer most likely if the guy I got this car from is local to you. Please keep me updated!

Do the cops give you a hassle if you just leave it off the front on the dash? Would they hassle you even more if you left the plate at home? I would hate a front plate as well (MI does not require a front plate).

BTW looks dang good!:nice:

Is that an 85-86 front end? I thought 84 was different:shrug:?

Yeah, the cops around here jump all over any reason to pull over a 20-something guy driving a mustang. :(

Thanks for the compliment! The car has 86 LX front and rear bumpers on it, and moldings from the same year. :nice:

If they made you put the plate on the front, I'd hang it under the belt line in front of the lower radiator opening, using brackets that went through the opening somehow. No way would I be drilling holes in that bumper, either. :nice:
