Got tuned this morning

Pat From sniper came and tuned my car today but my numbers seem extremely low..

our dyno has been down for a few months and all the parameters were off also..after he left we went through and looked at everything and found that it was readin* 96* out, which it was probably 75ish and it was set to 4500ft elevation.. the dyno tech is here now and changing things so maybe thats why my numbers were low...oh and the printer isnt working and for some reason in was sayying the car revved to 8k when it really revved to 65 and was still making power then..

that being said i made a max of 273hp and the tq was 299 i think..not by the screen so i could be wrong...with cams and everything thats waaaaaaaaaaaay off right?

ill be redynoing later in the day or possibly tomorrow to see if the new setting on the dyno give it the hopefully higher numbers that it really is...otherwise im going to have to go find another dyno

oh and its a dyno jet... when i get home ill post pics and the vids but for now, im at work and cant do so...if my car rlly makes that little of power this will make the worst bday ever

That's really low. Are you running ported heads? I know you are running hitechs, longtube and 10.1 compression. Hitech claims 300+ with just longtubes and cams?

yeah ported heads and everything...scupking is an auto, has the same mods as me and is making 299hp so what gives

I think scup is using stock heads, and block as well you should be well over 300 with all your mods

yeah im really confused on this..im hoping its just the settings that were on the dyno that are messing with the numbers

took a quick pic with my phone


what do you think i should really be showing number wise? my butt dyno def feels waaaay more than 270

I would hope 320 hp and 320tq at least

thats what i was thinking... heres what we did

took the sct tuner i had and set the car back to stock
we he went to load the sniper program into my car it wouldnt load because it said wrong computer code
looked it up and the tune AM sent me ended up being for an auto car with a different computer code i had
so he went back had to reset my computer back to a manual car with the right code and rebuilt the whole tune

maybe he missed something? just took the car out and i dont know if its all in my head but the car runs smoother but doesnt feel as powerful

*EDIT*
scupking mods arent the exact same brand but basically the same thing i have

what kind of dyno was the car on?

Sorry about the low numbers man!!! something is waaay off.

its a dyno jet..i think our dyno is effed up lol

off topic but the pic just made me smile...i love looking at my car and seeing the brakes fill up the inside of the wheels lol

LOL, yeah, i honestly think something is off on that dyno. Like someone else said, you should be looking at 320hp/320tq....my 98 right now makes 302 tq / 260 hp on a dyno jet so right when i saw that, i was like , man, something IS effed up.

our wideband was missing when he got here and we found it a little bit after he left so he was waiting on us to do another pull with the wideband hooked up so he could do some fine tuning. im gonna try to make it out to sniper and have him finish the tune today at his shop...if not, then next week maybe...man this is a PITA lol

Your #'s are way off man, that's about what I made with FULL bolt on's (that means longtubes as well) and an auto trans. I also have the HiTech stage II's, but they've been sitting in their box uninstalled for over a year now lol. I would take the car to another tuner.

Also, take it to the track, if you haven't already. Dyno #'s without Track #'s = useless from a performance standpoint.

i want to go to the track but i wont be able to make it till next friday and i have ZERO traction in 1st now that i have cams with the stock rims so that wont be a good test either

A little extra meat in the rear will definitely help with the 6 speed.

well looks like ill be taking the car to sniper next week and using their dyno so he can do the fine tuning... hopefully it'll show what the car really has

at least in a few hours ill have a few vids up and you all can hear how she sounds

They're 275 Nitto 555R Drag Radials on stock premium 5 spokes, super light. 1" hubcentric spacers on each rear hub.

Car sounds good!

Don't get too discouraged by the #'s, the dyno is just a tuning tool anyway. Once you get it on the track, your mph will show what kind of power your making.
