hey all, just picked up two cans of seafoam today, plan on using one to take care of the pinging i get. i know that you are supposed to use a vacuum hose to suck it in through, can someone show me a picture as to what hose they used and had good results from? should i also put the rest in my gas tank? i heard putting it in the crankcase isnt so good an idea, but the gas tank seems like a good place to put the rest. also, how much should i let it suck through the vacuum hose? thanks a lot guys, i really wanna take care of this pinging--is isopropyl alchohol a good cleaning method to take care of the maf?

let it suck up as much as it needs until the engine dies..(should die quickly) and there is a hose coming out of the throttle body pull the side of that hose that is NOT attached to the throttle body and let it suck it up...or there is a grey tab with a hose connected at the brake booster..you can let it suck up the seafoam from there too.

Ok what you do is use only 1 can. Two is too much.. Put about half the can in a bowl of some type, the vaccum line is too big for the can. Disconnect the Brake Booster Vaccuum Line and dip it in the bowl of seafoam. it will suck it right up and your car should die.(not literally) Reconnect the vaccuum line and put a couple ounces in your oil and dump the rest in the gas tank. Wait about 10-15 mins as you allow the carbons to be soaked in the stuff. Start your car back up, it may crank for a while before it actually turns over and once it starts it will probably have a rough idle. Just let it sit and smoke for another 10mins or so and take her out for a drive..get on it a couple times :nice: Now as for the MAF..rubbing alcohol is ok to use but be VERY DELICATE as you clean the sensors. DO NOT bend or break anything. Whenever clean the MAF you want to use something that isnt going to leave a residue. Good luck! :flag:

sounds good, does ne one have a pic of what line and what side to disconnect? i dont want to disconnect the wrong one. so half in a bowl and then let the car suck it up until it dies and then whatever is left in the bowl and can goes into the gas tank? sounds good! i am gonna pick up electrical contact spray cleaner for the maf, this way i dont have to touch it. i hope all this takes care of my pinging, i just got a full tune up as well.

I just used one can I shoved the brake booster vac line right in the can and let it suck it all up had to pull the line out a couple of times to keep it from dying then shut it off and let it sit for 5min fired it up and watched the smoke show then took it for a drive

Well, we had a pic floating around here somewhere... until the crash. It's really hard to miss. Look at your brake booster. (on driver's side of engine compartment mounted to firewall) There is a thick vacuum line mounting to the front side of the brake booster by a gray connector. Insert Seafoam here.
